fraggle I hate the wizard!! I did all the other heroes....and I waited to do the wizard last.... His pose......... he looks like a complete clown. I have a hard time finding a colorscheme for this guy to make him look less ridicolous....its the only model I dont like. AHHHHHHHHH!!!

Big thanks to Stefan (Krautscientist) for all your excellent advice and help to make this painting mission possible for me! Almost done, 2 more modells left, the Gargoyle and the witchlord.

Very nice! The Zombies I think are quite difficult to paint, yet you have done a good job on them. The Heroes look very cool as well.
The bases are too dark for me. I found drybrushing with successively lighter grey tones, really improves the overall look of these models on a Heroquest gameboard. I know you are intending to use them on your special cavern boards though, so maybe that is the reason for your dark bases?

for what is is worth i paint all my bases black also, I think it make figure stand out more.

Thank Pancho! Yeah I am on the fence of doing it or not, I kinda like how the figures pop with the dark base but it would look more realistic with a drybrush I guess. I think I give it a try!

I used a undercoat of GW mournfang brown, then added a layer of GW leadbelcher mixed with black (70/30 ratio), black wash, touchup of leadbelcher/black (70/30) then highlighted the edges with GW leadbelcher or some silver you like.
