I just guess that the Barbarian what was his name leads the way to search for traps.

Just consider that you still have your full turn to do, including rolling for movement.

When you look around the corner, you find an Ice Gremlin waiting for you.

I proxy him with a blue goblin.

He can't. It is a special ability of the scout, god and the emperor save him.
Afterwards, there is no monster and there is no EWP card, so you can do it directly yourself.
