Custom Minis

Yes, you can CUSTOMIZE your HQ minis.

Image

Red skel is simply a small and careful application of cigarette lighter heat on the scythe to redirect it - notice if it were an actual scythe, the handle curve is all wrong with the direction of the blade.

The killer skel has his scythe redirected too and added a scythe head on the other side, with several spare skull faces cut off and added; the backs of them form 'spine armor' down his back and the shoulder pad. There is a rubber band wrapped around one leg; it is my hope that it doesnt eventually degrade and burn thru the plastic leg - we will see as time goes on.
The wizard skel has a paperclip added, is holding a "scroll" in the body hand, has an arm cut and reglued at a different angle, and has the cloth cloak added.

All of these wonders were made by Georgeous of the Gorge. Any special orders can be done - but you will have to supply the parts for him and he will get back to you with a price!

Other people who have already made extensive customizations to their minis - please post pix in here and tell us how you did it - then those who have some skills can replicate it!

Well not quite Hero Quest. And not quite finished with the paint job... or shields... or bases...
But when else am I going to post these "frozen dead"?
Image

They are GW plastic skeletons with a bunch of green stuff.
The clothing are just 1 very flat piece of green stuff attached at appropriate places and folded to resemble clothes.
Afterwards i ripped it with a needle.

Feel free to ask anything (about these skeletons!)

Ethica - those are really cool and well-done mods.
See? If we didn't make a thread like this, we wouldn't know what's out there.

Keep 'em coming, people...

I could - but I won't ;)
But they were not that hard to make. You could make your own!

Post what you got. Even if it's just something simple it may still inspire other people to do something similar.

I only asked for some customs because I also had the Witch king expansion - and I think I might have gotten even more extra skels and orcs with the whole set. Didn't count.
But I think skels and orcs are pretty easy to find on eBay. I got an extra chaos sorc that way...

There are plenty of fairly reasonable auctions on the bay for skellies and orks still on the tree.
