Coming up with new NPCs and Allies

I've got some questions for clarification and suggestions.
Is there a list of races and creatures in HeroQuest/OldHammer/WarHammer?

Are there Halfings? How much smaller are they than Dwarves?

Can anyone think of a fantasy race roughly the same size as a dwarf and nowhere near as stout, but much larger than a halfling? Also clearly lacking the signature facial hair.

I've got a few minis that are smaller than the HQ, DragonStrike, and D&D Ravenloft Dwarves.





I've also got a character that acts as a summon/battle ally. A Clockwork robotic knight.

Looking for lore about bringing Golems and Automaton to life.

Yes, there are halflings in warhammer. EVERYTHING about them is blatantly "borrowed" from LOTR.

Gnomes. They normally have facial hair but I don't think they basically need it like dwarves do.

Gnomes are typically the same height as dwarves?
EDIT
Gnomes and Kender are approximately 4 feet tall.
Dwarves apparently range from 4 to 4.7ft according to D&D.
