So I was looking at some miniatures.
And came across this design:

Who I feel was totally inspired by the original from HQ:

Using similar miniatures-based games to include more quests for friends.
Was looking at Ravenloft. But I HATE the Count Strahd mini. Was hoping for a miniature that actually resembles Strahd as depicted in the illustration/cover.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Google Images can find what you're looking for.using the keywords: Strahd miniature. EBay will do the same. There are several to choose from.

aaronAGN wrote:Unless I missed it while skimming through, I didn't see any mention of the Magic: The Gathering board game miniatures.
So I'll throw that into the list.

I've already collected me some 'Scape, so these are tempting. For Hero Quest, I could see certain squads working, particularly the chunkier ones. It doesn't hurt to get all of those compatible combat dice either--they are even white now!

Just stumbled across this Yeti figure:

Probably oversized, but if you wanted a BIG Yeti to be a sub-boss, or even if you wanted your Frozen Horror to be huge, this would work.

Hand of Glory is currently running as a KS (so sorry if this is the wrong forum), and its miniatures have "hot swappable" hands. While I wouldn't buy the miniatures *only* for HQ, they're aimed towards RPG'ers. You can see their initial line of miniatures has a Barbarian, Dwarf, Elf, and Sorceror, not to mention miniatures that may match custom characters.

Now here's the important part! Most of the equipment overlaps the additional weapons, artifacts, and other items in HeroQuest, so your wizard can equip himself with an orb later in the game, rather than carry that copper pipe with him all the time. Your Barbarian can wield a fancy sword as an artifact, rather than his child-safe sword.

Finally, the issue of what you have equipped is solved...

The hands on the girl!
A close look before investing might be a very good idea here.

I was going to say that this post belongs in the Laugh A Day thread, because to me it is VERY funny. But they already have > $100k on KS. So the joke is on me, Peck!

I find these figures horrible in a way that they'll have a special place in that cold dark heavy core of me
where things go to die.
This is also the wrong place for me to stop posting my taste even if it means people see the arrogant grumpy old prick in me.
I try to post positives in other places...

Is there a name for when heroic scale (extra large hands and head) gets emphasised even more? Super-heroic scale?
