i was in primary school when heroquest first came out, my brother and i played it with a friend from school quite a lot, i was the dungeon master and they had two heroes each. we got all the expansions available in the uk and played through them all! i still have all 5 boxes, they and their figures are still in pretty good condition too! 8D

2 base sets, 2 advanced quest sets AND

2 of each of the 4 european expansions 2KK, 2ROTWL, 2OH,2WOM

although i have only one of each cardboard box for the euro expansions

all cards are perfect, the boxes are a wee bit tatty, but everything that was in em is properly stored

AND USED!

pride and joy they are. i also make heroquest boards using cystacast and hirst arts molds. and the best quest is the one where you are marooned on a desert island where you lose nearly aw yer gear. the great leveler, yer aw back to basics- it was one of the quests on this site - best quest of 2009 i think, or summit

I bought main game and all expansions when they were originally released. Second set I picked up from charity shop for £9 about a year ago.(Couldn't believe it at first.) I purchased all my stuff to play, not to sell. I would grudge paying the sort of money that is being asked nowadays for it. It would be great if whoever owns the rights to HQ could re-release even the minis and furniture to stop people making such huge profits from it.

saw this above earlier - and totally agree - if it came out again - and i've got a bundle of this gear - i'd buy it again. its a great game full stop

i was given the main set as well as kellar's keep and return of the witch lord for christmas, i think it was after i saw the awesome adverts on telly, with who i can only presume to be warick davis dressed as an orc in them.
i was very young when i got them and would pester everyone to play it with me and it stayed like that for years, even adopting miniatures from other sets into it.
then i got AHQ last year off ebay- and its not the same....
but i would never sell my original nor give it away, its a large part of my childhood and who i am, and i think i will eventually be buried with it( hopefully set up!)

Two NA main sets for me, plus Kellar's Keep. One set is VERY used :cry:

, as I teach kids with it. I keep the other for my collection. Got both main sets and Kellar's Keep at thrift stores. Paid about $ 5-6.

My old game buds have the original set, Kellar's Keep, and Return of the Witch Lord. They haven't played them for years. Hope to get them one day.

I bought the original set when I was a kid when it first came out and I was hooked. I think it was about £25 at the time. I bought all the expansions and the Advanced Quest edition when they came out. I also bought Advanced Heroquest and Terror in the Dark but a while later forgot all about them and they went in the loft.
A few years ago I came across Agin's Inn and down it all came again. Since then I've bought a base set for spares at a car boot sale for £1, American versions of the base set, ROTWL and KK on Ebay as they are all a bit different from the UK versions. I have bought 3 models from the Frozen Horror on Ebay and use paper minis for the others as like most people, I won't pay £200+ for a set.
A friend's son loves playing the game with me and I'm always looking for new ideas, spells and items etc to download so he can increase his enjoyment of the game even more than when I was a kid as we had no internet then!

Introduced to the game by my father (Ken for any who don't know) when I was a boy, the interest was rekindled by my son (Puck) via a chance conversation with his Grandad. Currently own the origional board game (UK version) which came with the Return of the Witch Lord expansion (purchased on e-bay for £35.oo bargin or what) we have also aquired the Kellars Keep expansion. Keeping an eye out for further expansion bargins.

With Puck's vivid imagination, dad's facination with Sir Ragnar and my love of producing a good story, between us we write enough quests to keep us going. Check out the Saturday Night Dungeon

I also run my own business and find that an hours miniture painting at the end of the day is a great way of relaxing and reducing the stress levels.
