I have some fun with the WMs. If there is furniture in the room, I have the monster interact with it somehow, such as coming out from under a table, or climbing out of the cupboards. Otherwise, I have the monster quickly traverse down the corridor and wander into the room.

Nah. I made it so WM card = "You find nothing." in my first DM duties in over 20 years. phew!
