That would be a klondyke, thank you very much.
And still, all of these are just conglomerations of words that some take offense from and others don't.
Cynthia, do you take offense from that one? Or is it just a pun from existing words, testing the recipient's bigotry?

I agree in principle, but then again, offending jokes are often the most funny, it's a kind of guilty pleasure. I just hope the audience is mature enough to know that. I would not tell jokes of this kind in public for the same reason.

Similar situation, a father is waiting in front of the delivery room. Finally, the doctor tells him to come and see his baby, leading him to a room with four covered baby beds in a row.
The doctor uncovers the first bed, revealing a baby with no arms. The father is somewhat shocked. "Is this my child?" he asks. "No", says the doctor, "it's worse".
He uncovers the second bed, showing a baby without arms and legs. "Is this my child?", asks the father. "No", replies the doctor, "it's worse".
He uncovers the third bed, in which a baby lies that only consists of a head, without arms, legs, or body whatsoever, and smiles to the man. "Is this my child?" he asks. "No", says the doctor, "it's worse".
He uncovers the fourth bed, in which lies only an eye on a pillow, winking to the man. "Is this my child?" he asks. "Yes" replies the doctor earnestly, "This is your child".
The father bows over the eye, making "bah bah - doo doo" sounds and wiggling his fingers before it. "Oh", says the doctor, "don't bother, he's blind".

Agreed on so many levels...

Best guilty joke ever:

[Reveal] Spoiler: offensive text warning
How many niggers do you need to clean a toilet?

[Reveal] Spoiler: offensive text warning
None, that's a women's job.

.. food for thought..
Well, racism is a sticky subject, and perhaps one that would demand a thread of it's own. The Inn is a place where I have seen many very civilized and intelligent discussions of subjects that would immediately start a flame war everywhere else.
As for racism I feel the whole subject, as it is handled in public today, is spoiled by ideologies and "rules" to a level every sensible dialogue is impossible.
Take the term "racism" itself. Normally, a "X-ist" is someone who likes or belongs to X. An impressionist is a painter who trys to catch visual impressions directly on the canvas. An expressionist on the other hand is a painter who does not try to depict anything, but just express a meaning (so expressionism is mostly abstract). A capitalist believes in the power of the free market (so capital is a good thing), a communist thinks the community should rule the market. A buddhist believes in the teaches of Buddha.
But a racist is not one who loves the different human races, but who (supposedly) hates them all but one. How do you call someone who loves the diversity in human biology?
Personally, I think its great there are different human races (or subspecies or whatever), I find all of them beautiful. There are differences other than skin color, that's a scientific proven fact. But being different doesn't mean being better or worse. I think I can like every race for what it is.
Of course, as contact between people from all over the earth grows, this "biodiversity" of the humans is somewhat threatened. Races will intermix and eventually become one. I may take some centuries, but that's still a short time in evolution. And I think of this as a loss. Am I racist now?

That's true. I can imagine no one could joke after having such an experience.
But then again, that goes on for so many different situations.
A rape victim can't find a rape joke funny, they can't even watch a rape scene in a movie, while others may masturbate to it.
Someone who has been affected by cancer, can't find this hilarious joke funny.
Image

In the end, we may end up not joking about birds pooping on you, in the off chance the listener had once a bird crap in his food then he ate it and nearly died of a weird bird disease.
As long as you are not offensive on purpose, you can make a joke, even using a false stereotype. You aren't racist if you do.
We all draw our lines somewhere, but when someone crosses our line, instead of being offended, maybe we should just consider whether his line is just a couple of feet over from our line.

So I say you can joke about anything, it depends what the joke is (the last is an actual quote from the guy in my avatar - Ricky Gervais).

Not the intermixing per se, but the result. I have no problem with interracial couples, as they obviousely share my love for all races. But I can't help but thinking that in the long run and at a global level, this will ultimately lead the same races to disappear. And this a real loss. Reality is not always simple. Everything has more than one side.

You're confusing the subject of a joke with the reason for why the joke is funny. If a joke relies on or perpetuates stereotypes of a particular race, then it is racist. If the subject is based around wildly inappropriate or gross behaviour, then it may be offensive but it's not going to damage people's perceptions in the same way as a racist joke.

Certain people have mastered the art of telling racist jokes without coming over as being an actual racist, such as Danial Tosh. He revels in people getting uncomfortable about offensive jokes, and it works because of the way he does it, sometimes using it to highlight how stereotypes are wrong. Other people just sound like bigots, often because they are.

Going vegetarian is a missed steak. You don’t get to tell jokes like this:

A steak pun is a rare medium well done.
