Nice. This hero reminds me a bit of Road Warriors two, in that you both introduce new cards for them. I don't do that for my heroes, there's far to many so I just introduced one big set of 25 spells to act as the hero version of the US chaos spells and use combinations of those and the standard ones. Road Warrior said he was working on a bright wizard. Your high elf with his troll slayer and warrior-priest plus a bright wizard would make a really well balanced group.

Thanks Stratos! I really couldn't have cdone it without you and Gimme's templates. Without those it'd just be a pile of handdrawn stuff in my HQ crate.

@GB. I didn't really intend for the High Elf Wzard to be a regular Hero. Just a 1 quest fun-to-play with guy. But I suppose he could be easily converted into a recurring Hero. I also would be scared that the High Elf spells would be way over powered if brought into most canon quests. So, again, just a fun to use occasionally spell set. I doubt too many Heroes will find and be able to buy the spellbook to access them outside of the encounter pack.

There are tons of different ones out there. You can buy newer - assembly required ones from games workshop. A few other companies make perfectly acceptable substitutes. These are what I use:

These are old games workshop models. Only have to glue the shield on these. I don't like those angled bases myself. I'd either get straight or round slots bases. But that's me. I'm strange sometimes.

If you wanna go with the traditional HQ style, look up "High Elves 4th edition" from Warhammer/Games Workshop. They come with spears and shield bits. Those will be the ones you want. Cheap and uni-posed. For HQ bases, use Zealot Miniatures.

Hey Chris!

I love this pack! The writing and quest prompts are excellent, (that part about rowing up to the rocky outpost in the cover of night was especially exciting). I like the branching path of the first quest into the second quest a lot. That's a great thing to include that keeps the quest sequence the same, but allows for a nonlinear feeling. Your use of doors-as-windows, and that flavor text! These are all great touches. I like the enhanced Elf weapons, too.

Good job on everything! |_P

Have you had a chance to play this one yet with your group?

Whose website?
If you're talking about Zealot, they should have the bases in stock, if not, bummer. Thantos, a member here, is their boss. Ask him if he plans to restock then.
If you're talking about GW, don't use their website. They sell their new product, of course. They're in 8th/9th edition now with figures being sold through their own website reaching back to 6th, as opposed to 4th that I suggested.
Use ebay for OOP stuff.

I'm talking about these:

4 archers and 4 spearmen were sold in a box.
Nowadays, you should find spearman lots on ebay.

I hope I can use this picture just so but there's a watermark which is advertisement when I post it, right ;)

Thanks! I'm glad you like it!

We've played all but #6 at this stage. I'm a bit paranoid about it, I'm araid those spells may be overkill, but we'll see. Hopefully this weekend. The rest seemed to go well. Some easy, some harder. I think that is the case with any quest pack. Everyone's play group will be at different levels, so you have to adjust the difficult on the fly.

I like the look of these quests. This quest pack may get played the next time the boys are into HQ (don't hold your breath though, they're heavily into x-wing at the moment).

The high elf mini's you use have been added to my ever-growing HQ wishlist |_P I've also just seen a Hero version on ebay that may get added as a new playable Hero.

In the spell cards pdf there are 2 different 'Flames of the Pheonix' cards. Should both of these cards be included? If so I really think you should at least change the name of one of them (and the artwork if you can find another suitable image!). Maybe 'Phoenix Firestorm' for the area of effect spell?

Also, I may be 'borrowing' some of your card art for my Bright wizard spells. Any chance you could tell me where the art for 'Vaul's Unmaking' came from?
