This is brilliant!!!

If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Its been a number of years since I played, dang near 20 years now. I loved playing the game with my brother and my father. Now that I have kids of my own, I'm hoping to get them involved. Just picked up a used game system, and a few extra pieces to get me started again.

Any thoughts on how to get a new generation introduced to the game?

Start a family game night and stick to it. Soon enough the rest of the family will look forward to the game day.

I like the idea of a family game night. That's how my brother and father played years ago: sitting at the kitchen table, drinks and snacks at hand, and playing for hours on end.

Excellent idea!! Would definitely make the game a bit more interesting with higher stakes. If I get my wife to play, if she dies she makes me a sandwich!
(j/k! I think that idea would go over like a wet fart in church!)

Hi all,

Just joined the forum after initially finding it a good few years back (Never realised it had a forum >< doh!)

Anyway, my real name is Lee and I'm 32 years old (Mental age still 11) and I used to play Hero Quest with my friends in the early 90's. I recently purchased the full game off Ebay, plus a few extension packs! I don't really have anyone to play the game with as of yet, but I'm hoping that when my little boy grows a little older, it will be something that we can both play together! (Bit of farther son bonding lol)

So in the mean time I'm trying to collect all the extension packs, plus paint all the figurines so when the day comes we can go from begging to end without any distractions!

That's really all about me, I'm happy to discuss all things Hero Quest and am always on the look out of how to extend the adventure! Seems like this website has some great ideas and resources and I'm very much looking forwarded to tapping into them where possible.

Look forward to speaking to other enthusiasts...

Lee

Yes definitely interested! But not at all sure how PBP works? I'm currently at work so I only briefly looked at the link you posted, will have to have a more in-depth look at it later on tonight. Sounds interesting though! :D
