What about a board on the screen of a pc?

I have an idea. Making a program that permit to have the board of the game on a screen, with a lot of interactions, and first, no game master ! Isn't it incredible ?!!

You put your miniatures, furnitures and doors on the screen and play. The advantage is to have a randomly generated dungeon by the computer, monster's actions by the computer, sounds, magic animated special effects, tiles already included and many others possibilities....

Tell me what you think about and if it is interesting?

of course you put the screen horizontally on a table... If it doesn't make it crash !!!

Well there was a program called Heroquest Gamemaster that used to be on the old aginsinn site a while back that basiclly did that. I didn't do random dungeons but you could set up dungeons and the computer could play for the monsters etc. I never actually used it to play the DM because i always thought that the DM was what bought the game to life.

i know the game master program... try it it's really a great program, but you can't use it like a board... my program will presents board in high res, like the real tiles. and you play directly on the screen who play the roles of the board.

As in, place all the pieces on a large monitor laying on the table? You could mount a projector to the ceiling and project onto a white table cloth if that's the case.

yes i have already thinking about that but a projector is expensive, but it is the best way to do it i think

ok i miss understood. possibly buy a "cheep" LCD wide screen as the display and mount it into a table. Probably would have to get some kind of protective covering for the screen.

Initially sounds kinda neat...

Mounting a large LCD within a table is an interesting idea too. Just set in a piece of Plexiglas flush to the table top to protect the screen.
