Yeah, being a gamer in my area ends up giving you those traits, i guess. :-)

Quest 10 went well, with the Heroes first jumps through the portals landing the Barbarian in the room with two Chaos Warriors, and the Wizard ending up in the 2x3 room with one. They managed to find the Mine quite quick, but it took them forever to get out.

Quest 11 had the Heroes drawing up their own kill chart, which was hilarious with the Wizard drawing her own stick figure versions of the Goblin, Orc, Fimir, and Chaos Warriors. The Heroes plowed through quite well, and even set off the Gargoyle trap, but the Dwarf was able to leap in and drop the best in one swing.

Playing these two quests back to back was great, especially after not playing since the beginning of December, or even end of November. They were both unique enough to get everyone back into the game quickly, and I think I'm going to recommend to them that we start earlier at our next session in two weeks to get through the final three quests.

This weekend, my heroes will be taking on the final three quests in the core questbook, and I can't wait. I'll be sure to take pics to document the session...

Here, the heroes enter Barak Tor, the barrow of the Witch Lord....

Image

The Elf made an unprecedented search for secret doors in the spiral stairway room, and the Heroes worked their way through secret doors they found. Here you can see, they're fighting a Gargoyle in a musty corridor.

Image

The Heroes made their way through the halls to this dining room where they quickly dispatched the Zombie who held the Star of the West -- their main quest achievement.

Image

They neaded down a hallway, looking for the Spirit Blade (as they heard in the intro that this was in fact where the Witch Lord is, and that it's the only thing that can harm him. Unfortunately, none of these doors are able to be opened to them.

Image

"Dammit, how can we open these doors?"

Image

Here, Barbara jumps into a room of undead, ruining their day.

Image

While the rest of the party took care of the previous room of undead, Oankh the Wizard heads off to find this mummy. Shortly after the undead were dispatched, they still hadn't found the Spirit Blade.. Time to go back and try some other doors...

Image

Whoops. KSteel the Dwarf opened the wrong door and woke Papa Bear...

Image

The first thing the Witch Lord did was cast Summon Undead, and the storm was on. KSteel was able to escape the room, but left Barbara the Barbarian in the small room, and Oankh the Wizard in the other small room, completely cut off.

Image

Barbara worked tirelessly to hold back the undead while Oankh was able to drop a mummy and sneak out.

Image

The rest of the party took off to see if they could find another secret door while Barbara held the villians at bay until the answer could be found.

Image

Roxie (my french bulldog) takes over KSteel the Dwarf for a round while the Heroes make their way back to the center room.

Image

Carrie the Elf finally finds a use for "Pass through Rock" and uses it to escape... And she snuck back to the Witch Loard's crypt to search for the Spirit Blade, to no avail. The Heroes quickly made their way to the starway and left Barak Tor.

------

Image

The Heroes enter the Ruined temple to look for the Spirit Blade.

Image

The party got quite angry at the falling blocks which knocked a couple of them on the head. They really had to remember where the ceiling was weak, and boy, were they frusterated.

Image

While Oankh took on the Chaos Warrior in one room, Barbara stumbled into a room with a Chaos Warrior and his skeleton minions.

Image

The rest of the crew piled in to help out Barbara. They decimate the Chaos Warrior and his minions, then leave, not searchign the room for treasure. (Whoops)

Image

The party continues on to go nose to nose with a handful of Orcs and Fimir, with just a dash of Chaos Warrior.

Image[/url]

And Goblins too.

The Heroes realize their folly, and head back searching every room for treasure, and finally find the Spirit Blade. They hotfoot it out of there...

That's it for this week, since people were exhausted. Next session... The Return to Barak Tor.

KOOL.

Man, those doors that you put in the false rooms - what a lousy alignment they had in the cutter so many years ago.
Some of my doors are a bit off, too, but those are frikkin WHACKED.

Funny thing is, Flesh, some are only whacked on the one side.

Lame, eh?

I guess not.

While my players took away one of the moments I was looking forward to in quest 12, I did like the fact they kept thinking the Spirit Blade was in that quest. They definitely learned to run, and that it's okay.

A general update:

I just moved to a temporary home, and move into my next permanent home in late March. I hope to have another gaming session soon.

Well, the Heroes defeated the Witch Lord!

No pics this time around, but the Heroes ventured back into Barak Tor, looking for the Witch Lord, with the Spirit Blade at their disposal. Much of the quest saw the Heroes looking around for the Witch Lord, not finding him at his tomb. Soon, they entered his throne room and the battle began. The Dwarf charged in, only to set off a pit trap. He battled his way out of the pit while the Barbarian used the other door and triggered another pit trap. With the Elf and Wizard battling undead, soon it came to the Witch Lord.

The Witch Lord promptly summoned more Undead to tie up the Heroes, and he cast Command on the Dwarf. The Wizard countered with putting the Dwarf under a sleep spell, and Barbara the Barbarian went toe to toe with the Witch Lord, as the Witch Lord hurled spell after spell in his direction.

As the dust settled, the Witch Lord vanished into a puff of black smoke... The Heroes had won... but for how long?

The game's on hiatus until I've moved into my new home and till the Heroes want to resume the Questing. Right now, we're diving into other games, and it's a lot of fun too.
