Using doubles in movement sounds cool. I've considered applying them as critical hit/fumble dice, but setting doubles to movement makes more sense. Those skirmish boots sound pretty neat for an artifact, as well. They may prove a bit too powerful without some kind of restriction...use doubles!

I might use that for three movement dice. There would be a one in 36 chance of all three being the same instead of a one in six chance with two dice and they'd have to roll a third dice if they're only rolling two and see if it matches the other two. For fixed movement the score on the dice would only overall their standard movement if they roll all the same. It would be a pain rolling dice every time they move though for a one in 36 chance of something happenning.

Maybe it should be one in six and have two different colours for the movement dice so that if they're rolling one or three movement dice, one colour is ignored for movement and just used to see if they roll a double (when one movement dice) or one dice is ignored for rolling a double and just used for movement (when rolling three movement dice). It sounds a bit too complex but it's not really if you think about, it would just take a bit of getting used to and it would be an optional rule anyway.

I've included fumble with counter attack in the document. All ideas expanded on from here and other forums. It has follow through, push back, exchange squares, beserker etc. I need to get the first draft done and hopefully get some feedback from everyone here.

The Heroes are currently way too easy at becoming too powerful, I'm working on ideas to balance it out again. I've made it into a slasher fest, a leveled up barbarian, with a special artifact and a spell cast on him could take out 4 possibly 5 monsters in 1 turn. The Evil wizard player is going to need lots of minions.

Using the doubles as a restriction on the 'skirmish boots' (I like that name) would bring about a clash with my other double rules. I like the idea of it as an alternative but can't think how to work both together. One of the Mod rules is to give all goblins M-A-M by default, this would be wrote in the quest notes and gives the evil wizard player a balancing contrast to this artifacts existence.

Gold Bearer. That 3 dice idea does seem a lil 'i'm not sure what you mean' at first. I like to just use what's already in the game for my modding ideas. Finding ways to add spice to what is already happening. Apart from bringing in items from other games, i love doing this. I've just finished working the dungeon counters from AHQ into the game.

Everytime I play there's guaranteed to be a point i'll make the monopoly joke, I'll roll doubles and try and move my character twice. I had to give doubles some meaning in this game, lol!

I was just thinking how it could work with characters who roll one or three movement dice. For one movement dice a second one could be rolled to see if they get a double and for three dice one could be rolled seperately so only two have to be the same. It wouldn't need a different coloured dice but it would be easier because they could be rolled at the same time.

Skirmish Boots may only be used once per Quest. It's simple, and it won't overpower a Hero much more than he already is.
