Damn ... I'm sorry I didn't come here sooner to let you know more things about this game. I work a lot on several official projects so it's hard to take time in forums.
So where to start ? well the begining may be :

1 HeroQuest 25th started on Kickstarter but due to the brandname hold by Moon Design in the usa, the campaing has been cancelled.

2 not the same thing happened to verkami because guyz you don't know verkami enough to know why. :D take a brief look and you 'll understand what kind of projects they have on this plateform.

3 the game was funded on lanzanos, a spanish international plateform where it reached a good amount. (680 037€)

4 as everybody could expect, it was first a project so nothing more concrete than 3d pictures and animated videos. The supporters of the project were asked to go and create an account on gamezone miniaturas on march 2014 since they are going to ask now what was your choice in the crowdfunding campaign. The strategy here, contrary to most of the projects- is to show you what -in real- you have the choice. That's why you need to wait for their hard work first to be realized and finished.

5 gamezone said many times they won't communicate but they will only work hard on it to offer the best thing. And that's what they did. In few weeks you'll see.

6 you missed the first prototype of the barbarian mini ? here it is :
Image

7 the game is finally presented in Zaragosa (at 5 hours from here) on the end of june :

8 The spanish distributor is e-mini as you can read. Hasbro and asmodée were interested in distributing the game but they have to plan something at an european scale not country by country.

9 yes english is planed. French spanish italian versions and german too.

10 the game will come in a huge box, a kind of real treasure chest with different shelves for the storage (the minis in a foam to protect it !) A real collector item in fact.

11 It also comes with 2 rule systems. One very close but ameliorated of the original HQ to be compatible with old quests, minis etc. The other one is more interesting and barely better than Descent V2 to me. Your character cannot take levels but can be ameiiorated and buy better gear. Can also learn new magic spells, train and use magical items and artefacts.
They also have developed a new dice, something very original ^^.

12 For those who are in trademark supernatural problems and see the future, no, they don't give up the US market since they have 3 months to present to the judge a prototype to show their trademark product is different from the roleplaying game owned by moon design. May be it will be enough to convince may be not. But anyway time will answer your questions. It's not the first time something isn't release in the USA due to trademark conflicts. (d&d parker for instance and so many more)

13 the game delivery is delayed a little bit but it won't be like MYTH because after 18 months, we still don't have our box in french and they always announce late. GZ promised to do their best.

14 the game is 100% european. not made in China or east europe which is something great.

I'm planning to go to its presentation with friends for other reasons. I hope i'll be freed of my main work for 2 days. Even if I don't go there, you'll see pics and videos in less than 20 days now. countdown has begun. Get ready 'cause there's no limit now

You posted pictures that are three months old. GameZone last updated the 25th anniversary website in the beginning of March, where they published said pictures.
by the way, the reactions to that sculpt were overwhelmingly panning here at the inn (I seem to remember BY FAR MOST OF THOSE posting hated it, though I can of course not be sure), and now you waltz around and advertise with that? Jesus, HQF, what have they done to you?

So, where's the news?
Announcing not to communicate with your paying customers? To concentrate on work?
"Log entry May 10th, (insert name here if anyone wants to actually be officially involved) working on Skeleton sculpts." - Spread eMail to all customer addresses - Done.
There's your communication. Not that hard to do.

is why you wait for the minis to be cast before backing a project. Looks great in 3d, but if they use a digital sculptor who doesnt know what details will work when translated to a real mini and cut corners using a mediocre quality prototyper who doesnt know how to limit the XYlight bleed of his DLP printer...

New spell sets and/or new spells for the four elements?

What about the Wizards Of Morcar spells, are the expansions being used at all, like men-at-arms?

Same four heroes, new ones?

New monsters, all the old ones, ogres?

Is the story a follow on from the original?

Interlocking changeable board with three dimensional parts and possible to make the original dungeon?

Is this going to annoy games workshop?

If the answer to any of these is no, why the hell not? :)

Edit: Hmm, I get the distinct impression I'm missing some past history going by the posts.

Re: 25th Anniversary version

I initially backed the project on Kickstarter. But before I did, I asked them the questions: "have you already resolved any legal issues that might prevent this project being completed? Do you have legal ownership of the HeroQuest name and intellectual property?"

They replied: "Yes, we have resolved all legal issues. There will be no legal challenge. We have full legal ownership of the HeroQuest name and intellectual property".

Three days later their KS was shut down due to a legal challenge over the IP, and the fact that they were using the HeroQuest name without permission or legal authority.

They lied to me, and all of us. I don't care what 15-point posts you come up with to say "hey, no, this really is cool, these guys really are awesome, look at this half-finished Barbarian" - they are proven liars, they are attempting to make a fast buck off the back of nostalgia for someone else's hard work, and they are frauds. There really isn't anything more to say.
