Awwww yeah.... Let's hope this comes to fruition. It'd be nice to get something that is true to the original with updated stuff like higher quality miniatures. I'm not knocking the originals but the ability for detail is quite a bit higher now. Time to go sell a kidney to get ready for this!

I have my doubts that they'll redo the heroes using the same aesthetic. I predict that they will all be mid-action posed, 40mm tall, Reaper miniatures-style.

Heroquest 25th anniversary in 2014

Postby Infje » September 30th, 2013, 7:33 am

Summary:

- Spanish company GameZone will create a new heroquest 25th aniversary edition.
- They have distribution rights to Spain but not to other countries, but they will release the game in multiple languages and there are plenty of spanish online shops with worldwide shipment.
- They may use a crowdfunding campaign but it's not confirmed.
- There will be initially four heroes in male and female versions.
- Furniture and tokens will be all in 3D (resin) instead of cardboard.
- The board will be reversible (two in one).
- There won't be fimirs, but there will be equivalent reptilian creatures.
- It won't be overly expensive (in line with Descent V2).

Remember, in HeroQuest.es you can use the system Google Translator (top-right in the web) for follow this news.

Who exactly told you this? I, for one, would find this extremely hard to believe.
I've looked at their website. All they make are miniatures. They don't do boards, they do
do cards....while they do make machines, they do make furniture pieces.
They don't even create their own game systems or components to other game systems.

And as far as pricing...I realize most rpg board games are in the $50 - $60 range these days...
still a little expensive to me...
But with most of gamezone's items being 7+ euros, I would find it very difficult to believe that
they'll include the same number of miniatures as the original game for a price less than $100.

Just my view on things, of course.

For the record, I'm not quoting this as truth. I'm just sharing something I've found.

I'm looking forward to this!

I guess as a community there's not going to be much wailing and gnashing of teeth over rules changes etc. is there?

Most people play house rules from what I see, so any new models/funiture or quest ideas could only be welcomed I assume?

The only thing I am afraid is, if they change the stats of the monsters, their names, etc. For example, if the orc is tougher than chaos warriors, or if the chaos warrior is called evil knight. This will confuse us.

in my opinion, as long as they don’t cooperate with GW, they should call it something else. Why to call it HQ if it’s not?

They should make a new board, put new monsters, create new quests and that is enough for a “must buy”.

ps: by the way, the modern comic artwork is terrible…
