The chibi style is a matter of taste, but man does they look like garbage quality casting!
I would be ashamed to send a customer a cobra like that! It's embarrassing!

It's too bad, because the sculpts are pretty decent.

Seeing your pics scares me. I've only looked at a few minis at the top of my shipment. What horrors await below?

Yeah, I'm gonna try my best to fix what I can, I'll need to buy some liquid and regular greenstuff I reckon and some sculpting tools. I think they'll look allright once painted though, but at the price they cost, I had expected something a lot better than this. Never again.

Just to specify, I might be interested in the Warduke, Lord Soth, sahuagin, gnoll, bullywug, bugbear, medusa, owlbear and type-V demon.

I don't remember Warduke, Lord Soth, or type-V demon being minis available during the kickstarter. I don't think I have those. But I definitely have the others. If I have time this weekend to go through all the little zip-baggies and ensure I was sent everything ordered I will set those aside as I come across them.

If the casting of the HeroQuest type minis are decent enough, I might keep those ones. I ordered enough for a full game system of chibi HeroQuest just for fun.

Evil Fighter, Death Knight and Marilith, probably.

I'm amazed at the poor quality of those casts. And that there are so many pieces.

I've used Impact a lot for their fantasy football stuff - I think Iron Wind actually casts the metal figures on their behalf, but I'm not sure who does the casting for the Chibis....

I'd reccomend mailing them about the badly cast stuff - I've never had a problem with their customer services before and the owners are nice guys who also frequent forums. I'm sure they'll put it right for you

I used to use Iron Wind Metals (formerly Ral Partha) to cast my stuff. They didn't offer resin casting at that time, however. I was unable to communicate well enough to keep using IWM, so I switched to Valiant.

Finally got through all my Chibis and everything is present I think. I'm not 100% sure about my Marilith though. There's no snake parts, just head, torso and giant scorpion parts. My order list shows her as Scorpion Queen/Giant Scorpion. Mayhaps I checked the wrong box when ordering. Everything else is as ordered.

The Type I's are mostly pretty good as Sjeng mentioned. But there are large bits of flashing I'm not experienced enough to work with. Seems when making their sprues, instead of the sprue parts that connect to the minis being very thin allowing them to be easily removed, these are just big connections that need to be cut carefully and filed to be of use.

Quality is important to us. One of the reasons we moved to smaller Type 2 figures for our 2nd KickStarter is so that we could improve the qualtity of the castings. However that lesson we learned does not mean at all that you should have to accept a figure that you are not happy with the quality of the casting.

Please both of you feel free to contact us if there is a figure in your reward that you feel the casting on was unacceptable and I'll work to get it replaced for you with one that is a better quality as soon as possible.

This project was a new style of sculpting, a new manner of sculpting and an entirely new casting material for us ... so there were multiple learning curves. However Impact! is not a company that sends items to their customers and then moves on ... if you are not happy ... it is important to me to work to fix that problem. So please feel free to contact me with any figures that you do not feel can be fixed and we'll get them fixed for you.

Also in regards to the Cobra ... we only are providing that figure to KickStarter people. Bottom line ... it has had too many quality control issues and its just not a good enough figure to keep in the range. We only made the Cobra so that the pieces could be used with the Scorpion Queen so that backers could still create a Snake Demoness like so many backers wanted. It was why we allowed the figure to be picked up with the KickStarter for around $2.25 each when it costs us $3.30 to make. We paid to have a 2nd mould made to try to improve the quality and the quality did definitely improve (looks like Sjeng picture might have been from the 1st batch) so Sjeng ... happy to get you a replacement Cobra head from the 2nd mould. But even with paying the extra to create a 2nd mould ... I'm still not happy with the overall qualtity so it is being discontinued.

I'm also spending a lot of time now pre-trimming off the flash from the figures before they go out so as to minimize the amount of work needed by any future customers and this means I'm pretty much hand inspecting each figure now I receive to improve the quality of the line and rejecting ones that don't make it.

The Acne Sjeng pointed out... I just rejected 5 figures last night that I received that had that problem ... so we are upping the quality control by a lot. I was used to working with pewter for many years and we had lessons to be learned with this new line ... but the important point to me is ... we are learning them and working to make sure they get fixed.
