Seeing all bases being grey...
Do you prime grey? If so, which one do you use?

First off thank you everyone. Still a way to go on the three.

Righto. Questions...

The Gladiator came from a pre-painted game from EM4 Miniatures, can't remember if he sells them unpainted as well but probably does.

The green armour was done with a Knarloc green base, layered with Camo green. Then washed quite heavily in Devlen Mud and Orgyn Flesh to create the shadows and grime.
Then relayered with Camo green adding Rottinf flesh for the highlights.
Then washed with Gryphonne Sepia and the edges picked out in the highlight colour again.

I undercoat all my minis in Halfords grey spray primer which for those not in the uk is a car primer.
I find it gives the benefits of both black and white undercoats in one.
Plus it's easier to pick out details than black but not as eye glaring bright as white.
Don't like GWs undercoats as I've had some that dried fuzzy.

nice! 2 tips though: get a better camera, and use photobucket or something similar to post bigger images. The forum can't handle too many big attachments.

What is the general opinion on the tomb?
Is it a well preserved body in armor laying on velvet or is it a chiseled stone/marble lid with the decayed bones lying inside?

I've painted mine as a body, but I kinda think it's actually supposed to be a marble lid or something.

I think it's supposed to be a carving. There are lots of examples of this from medieval times.

I have to agree with Blackthorn. I always pictured it as something like this

I think its up to the owner of the game system! To paint or not to paint sarchofigi or preserved body in armor? it looks like the dude is laying on some pillowy fabric to me . Whatever thats what i was tinkering with today. No work today inclement weather!! WOOT!!

I agree, it's totally up to the pieces owner how to paint it.
I've done it both as a stone carving and as a freshly laid body on fabrics.
Each looked as good as the other, and its nice to see you guys' take on this piece.
