What are you working on today?

Bit of a sneak preview as to what I've been doing lately.
Chaos Warrior of Nurgle is done, just need to take a proper photo (you'll have to excuse the mobile phone pics here, proper rubbish pics. sorry )

The other 3 need a bit more work.
The Gladiator is based on one of those plywood bases I talked about the other day, and plan to add sand to all my bases as well.

Your painting skills simultaneously inspire me and fill me with despair. In the voice of Randy Savage, "Ooo yeaah!" That Nurgle Chaos Warrior is green done right. But I'm looking forward to the Orc, 'cause he ain't no greenskin.

I like the idea of a piggy-skinnded orc.
I've always wondered why everybody paints each and every orc green. Couldn't there be variants like in the Ogres from Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears?
Also, his nose looks piggish. I like him.

Originally Orcs when they were first thought up in Lord of the Rings (incidentally Orc stands for Oxford Rugby Club which had rather rough players at the time and Tolkien based his Orcs on them), they weren't green at all.
Games Workshop in later years spawned the greenskins thing and it took.
They were originally human to reddish brown coloured.

I've done the Darkworld Orc with orangey skin as he's going to be used as a D&D type Hobgoblin.

I always find it easier to do two or three minis in a go as while washes and glazes dry on one I can work on another.

That's a piece of info I feel a lot smarter now that I know it. Probably more important to me than the knowledge that birds lay eggs. Seriously, I'm not joking about it!

Oh, and by the way the green chaos is fantastic, I completely agree with Deadalus, it's green done right.

yes i keep tryin to get it but i get sniped on ebay every time ive probably bid on twenty sets i started a post on the forum about it awhile back but it turned into another topic im also missing the big throne and the ogre lord's head from against the ogre hordes

How are you making the dark part of the armor? Is that an undercoat that you cover with a green drybrush technique? Or do you do it in green and then add the darker color??please let me know so I make my Flunkies look semi realistic...Gwiss and Georgeous are done with painting....
