Sure, GW looks great, I agree, but many other manufacturers make equally nice and even better mini's.
Mantic is amazing, Reaper has fantastic stuff, and most are cheaper too! GW is just rediculously expensive. Good job on the lizardmen though!

I'm a bit of a 'perfectionist' when it comes to certain things.
Since HQ is a MB/GW game, I want everything to 'breathe' the (old skool) GW style. For that reason I could never use minis from other manufacturers. The GW Troll I posted looks just like the Troll they had 20 years ago, so that's good. As for the GW beastman: I have to see them in person first, but they tend to be good. The plastic skeletons on their site are exactly the same they had 20+ years ago, so thats great.

The same goes for tiles, overlays etc. Just the HQ, AHQ and WHQ stuff will do for me.

Blame it on me being nostalgic I guess.

Reading this made me wonder if anyone in the US had capabilities of casting copies. I just registered and had thought of trying to make copies of what I have then found this thread. Didn't even know there were so many mini that I never knew about.

I am also in the process of reproducing rare HQ miniatures using Polyester resin. Currently I have the Giant Wolf and the Elven Warrior on ebay.
My casting copies are bubble-less and high accurate without missing parts whatsoever.



I painted the Eleven Warrior black cause when unpainted the details are hard to see.

I absolutely concur, though I would also add men at arms and ogres to that sentiment, I have some, but, sadly, not a sufficient number.

I count those as part of the FH and MM sets. However, they also add risks due to the big GW.

Do FH and MM have the full range of ogres and men at arms? Do they enforce on the European quest packs more than the others? I guess I hadn't considered the difference in proprietary ownership from one set to another.

The Men-At-Arms are the full range, but only half a set. The European sets come with two sprues of them, FH only came with one. The ogres in MM are only the Ogre Warriors. The exclusive miniatures in FH and MM are not made by Citadel as far as I'm aware.
