Thank you for the quest book, though I already have the original game and quest book, haha. I'm actually well on my way. I'm just not very well versed in heroscribe, so that might take me a while. That and I'm not linux savvy enough to add the HQ font pack to my computer, though I might figure it out.
Sure it's pretty scary when the witch lord returns but what you should really be afraid of is "Resurrection of the Witch Lord". Resurrected baddies always come back more threatening than ever, usually kind of demonic with wings and horns and hell fire to announce their arrival. Think Gannondorf or Mother Brain from Super Metroid.

I have monster cards, a front cover, and adapted spell effects. I'm going to try to make character cards soon as well.

Also, what stats do you folks think the Dragon Strike Heroes should have? Should the warrior, dwarf, elf, and wizard have the same stats as the HQ ones, except for different starting weapons of course? What stats should the thieves have? I figure they should have the craftiness of the Dwarf(trap disarming) with lower elf stats, weapon limitations of the wizard, and sneak attacks that even everything out. Should there be anything else?

Just for reference, I changed the "giant" which is barely bigger than Teraptus(who is already rather large) into a stone golem and I changed the gargoyles into Imps to make up for the fact that HQ already has a much more badass gargoyle.

Here are my tiles in progress because who wants to imagine townsfolk when you can use easy tiles from a Dnd module.

Also, I have some new creature cards:
Bugbear
Death Knight
Dragon
Fire Elemental
Imp
Stone Golem
Teraptus
Troll
Man Scorpion

I took the stats conversion from the lost and the damned and used it to make the stats for these monsters. I also asked a friend to cartoonize the dragonstrike monster cards a little, but obviously not much has changed. I will add a manscorpion soon. If anyone has improvements let me know, thanks.

If I get the text and basic map layout figured out and posted is there anyone with mad heroscribe and booklet making skills? I'm not well versed in adding fonts and whatnot to linux.

The Troll has the same stats as Teraptus, including 6 MP.

Hmm, I had not noticed that somehow. That might not make much of a difference though, as beyond stats they both have very different abilities. However, if anyone has any other proven stats I would welcome them completely. Unfortunately, I don't have a playgroup since graduating, so you poor people might have to be the test subjects until that changes. As such, I can't tell if stats are too powerful or not powerful enough or anything of the sort.

Edit: On second thought, magic has traditionally been a weakness of Dnd trolls, maybe a low MP would be a good idea.

I'd say 1 MP, like any given animal. If you want to make it stronger against magic give it immunity against control spells like Sleep.
That would make sense, I think.

@Nephew of Mentor-

Jumping in late here, but I agree with knightkrawler (and you) that MP need to be reduced. I think 2 MP would do it, as Trolls are pretty stupid, but also sometimes crafty. Let your ideas on magic defense decide.

Patroclus has a cool tool he's working on to take care of your non-Heroscribe needs called HQ Quest Maker. Check out this thread.

by the way, great idea for conversion, in my opinion. It's great to see some non-official but published work get redone for Quests. (I still need to read this thread in its entirety.)

Well, if anyone is interested, I have finished the map(using GIMP) and text for the first level. Any play testers? I suspect level one will be a little easy, but that's life.

I think 2 mp would be good, thanks to both of you.

There were a few Heroquest quests that include feats of strength such as lifting the portcullis. Does anyone remember which one that was? How about rules for picking locks or opening locked doors? I have an idea how to handle them, but I like to improve on official rules as much as I can.

Also, thanks for the link to the maker. I knew I had seen one at one time or another, but I couldn't find it when I looked. Guess I used the wrong search terms.

Here's a taste:

Intro:
Friends, in this time of relative peace I must impose upon your valuable time of rest. Our allies settling the border of the Savagelands are in need of heroes of your caliber. King Halvor and his favored retainer Lord Narran, live in a land threatened by unpredictable monsters, magical plagues, and angry spirits of nature. The Savagelands are not yet in the thrall of Chaos, but the power hungry wizard, Teraptus, is an acolyte of Chaos magic.
If King Halvor's kingdom falls into chaos, the empire will lose a powerful ally and gain a powerful enemy. The great book Loretome warns that the Empire could fall to Chaos if this happens.
It is for this reason that I have decided to send you as emissaries to Lord Narran. Assist him and bring the troubled realm back into order before the disease of Chaos spreads and overwhelms another ally.
However, be warned. The Savagelands lie under the watchful eye of the dragon Darkfyre. This Red Dragon is possessive of the kingdom and its creatures. Darkfyre was the only ruler of the Savagelands before King Halvor arrived. King Halvor and Lord Narran have maintained an unspoken truce with the dragon for years, and while Darkfyre is not yet an ally of Chaos, he will not suffer heroes from a foreign land for fear they might be champions determined to slay him. In respect for the king's truce with the beast, be merciful when able and have restraint, because any unnecessary bloodshed will surely attract Darkfyre's attention.
Rest assured, as long as you are in the Savagelands, Darkfyre will be hunting for you. Do not stay in one place for too long, complete your missions, and return to us. There is much to do, and little time. You may need to enlist help or split up to accomplish all there is to do. Be swift and return when your missions are done. The empire still needs you.
