I'd volunteer I checked the file and saw that you are doing the PDFs in Illustrator. I never did text layout in Illustrator, but in Indesign there is an option to change text flow and wrap according to the used languade. Maybe that can be changed in Illustrator, too?

For proofreading, yes, I would offer that to you, too. I have done such things many times on other occasions, mostly related to my non-arcane work in real life.

Once you have finalised your German translation, feel free to contact me via a personal message here. I would then find time to read your document and prepare a respective annotated pdf file and/or make itemized comments for your translator to work into the text.

One important thing for you to communicate to the proofreaders beforehand would be the HQ edition you aim to achieve full compatibilty with (concerning HQ terminology, etc.), if intended so.

I already started, but there are a few questions we may need to adress first: Since it is meant to be used with the old North-American edition of HeroQuest, there are differences from the European edition: Missing artifact cards (and thus no official german names for them in HQ89), the wrong name for the Evil Wizard ... how do you handle this in other languages?

I received some feedback on the errors - I've already uploaded v.1.1 - I'll fix further with your suggestions.
As for the things you pointed out, we decided to stick with the NA naming convention, to point out what the origin of the pack is. It can be easily modified in-game, if EUs want to keep Morcar. As for the elements not present in the EU HQ89, we basically stuck with the translation from HQ21, if it has been correctly translated, but we’re otherwise sticking with the 89 language customs.

Will you be releasing graphics for the cards in the EU style? I imagine most players will have the EU set so it would be nice to have it match up.

If you check the Italian and German versions of the pdfs you may find them in EU style.

Nevertheless, the general intention is always giving priority to American classic style because that is the Game System's rules which the Quest design is intended to be played.
