Click on the different "flags" to change the available options. Are any of the files still password protected? (Granted, this is a very old OP, but still curious... none of it should be private at this point)

1st and 2nd Edition EU (as well as "master edition" aka "advanced quest") share the same GM screen, and all of the European versions are translations of these English ones, correct?

No, as I posted earlier, there are minor differences between the wording on the 1st and 2nd edition screens. Other language translations may have been based on either, neither or both.
:skull: = one hit
:blackshield: = one hit & pushback
:whiteshield: = cancels one hit

HQ versions: "Original" - 1989 1st edition & 1990 2nd edition, "Remake" - 1990 NA remake & 2021 reprint

I missed that. Going back and re-reading it I see they are all different, but nothing mechanically changed there. Player characters (called "heroes" in the NA wording*) are the same as players and characters. They are clearly looking for a generic term rather than just having to writer "players/characters and monsters" so "figures" makes sense. "Spring" and "Trigger" have identical meaning.

*I like this the best, even though in storyline/lore "you are not yet true heroes..." is put out there a few times... we all know what is meant by the term. The four little red pieces (or equivalents in blue in the later boxes) as opposed to the other ones. Morcar is after all, a player in his own right, but he's also the game master! So no single figure represents him... he's all of them at once!

Note: This is an image of the 2nd edition screen, there are difference between the 2nd edition and 1st edition but they are cosmetic. The strikethrough text was in the 1st edition and removed from the 2nd edition and text in italics was added in the 2nd edition

EW Screen wrote:Pit Trap
Any player character who stumbles into a pit trap will automatically lose one Body point. The player character may move as normal next turn. Characters in a pit may attack and defend, but roll one less die than normal. The pit remains on the board as an obstacle.

You Characters and monsters may attempt to jump across a pit trap. You They must have enough movement left to get across the pit, the square on the other side must also be unoccupied.

Any character or monster miniature who attempts to jump across must roll a combat die. If he rolls a skull he falls into the pit and loses one Body point. If he rolls a shield he is allowed to continue his move. Count the square with the pit as a normal square when counting how far you have moved.

Falling Block
Any character who moves through a falling block trap square will spring trigger the trap. The block will fall into the square marked on the map with an arrow, blocking the way. Any monster or character character or monster in that square must roll three combat dice. The victim must lose one Body point for each skull rolled, and then move to an adjacent unoccupied square. If the victim cannot dive out of the way move to an adjacent square, he is killed by the falling block.

Spear Trap
Any player who is caught in a spear trap will lose one Body point if he rolls a Skull on a combat die. The spear trap will only affect the first character to enter the square.

It’s always awkward when one of the players in your kitchen stumbles into a pit. Sure, it protects the fridge, but still… 8-)
