I disagree with his interpretation (of Twisting Torrent), but kudos for his video effort!

Yeah, I can see that I will be fielding a ton of questions from the rules lawyers in my group. This monk may not be as fun as he appears to be for that reason alone.

I was repulsed that Amazon sent theirs a month early. Hasbro Pulse is supposed to be the supplier, essentially... Yet Amazon ships it a month early. So I cancelled my order from Hasbro Pulse and bought it, same price from Amazon and I already have it.

I only go the Hasbro route to avoid the issues in the past of not enough stock.

I bought it from hasbro to get free shipping when buying Prophecy of Telor, and The Spirit Queen’s Torment, so I don’t mind the wait.

Same issue is happening in Spain. Many months ago I bought PoT, SQT and Monks via HasbroPulse Europe and I will not get them before March 2024.

It is true that the PoT and SQT I bought are the Spanish versions, and it is true that shipping costs will be free for me, but there are people already getting PoT these days in Spain from other shops, like Amazon and others.

in my humble opinion I think this is a bad policy by Hasbro. People who buy their articles via their website should get them as soon as they have stock. I could understand some deviation in time, but three months I think is not something acceptable. If this is the way how Hasbro wishes to boost their presence in Europe I think they are fully wrong.

The Monk is a strange and unique hero. I've only played him through 2 Group Quests and 2 Solo Quests and I find that the dynamic completely changes. In a group quest he can rely on his partners to open doors or spawn Wandering Monsters to make his techniques evolve further into fire. Positioning is key if you have other heroes opening doors you want to have line of sight for your next turn.
In a solo quest the techniques replenish very quickly in a useful sense. All the combat oriented techniques get used in a boss battle. The first quest of the Japanese quest has a Fimir (Abomination) and Orc as the Boss. Even though Tidal Surge has it's useful moments, Twisting Torrent should be saved for the monster's turn, leaving Strength of Mountain and Eye of the Storm as your attacks before accessing the Fire Techniques. I got them in line with a diagonal and took them both out since Eye of the Storm was a double flop and Strength of a Mountain only landed 1 hit on the Abomination.
Torrential Turret replenishes so frequently in solo quests that the Monk could avoid traps and attacks so often that Body Points are negligible.

He's very powerful as is... But due to his weapon restrictions he would never be the one to kill the Witch Lord.

I love the minis that come with this set, but the Monk does seem a little confusing to play. I have read the card powers and such, but I can’t really fully grasp how to play the character. Maybe when I finally get my set and have the cards in hand, will I have a better idea.
