Anyone going to GenCon 2023?

Hey fans, so I finally purchased my four day pass to the GenCon 2023 in Indianapolis, IN (Aug 3-6). As most know, it's a convention devoted to fan gaming but also industry and trade in the tabletop gaming world (not just RPGs but also card and board games of all kinds). I have never attended by a good friend of mine who has attended before invited me and some other friends.

While they'll be spending much of their time seeing D&D related events I'll be walking the floors and looking for HeroQuest (sadly all of the events for the Rise of the Dread Moon prequel quest were sold out long before I decided to go). Avalon Hill of course will be there and so I'm curious to scope out any new info or at least say hi, and grab any swag there is to be had (by then we'll have had Rise of the Dread Moon a few weeks). Renegade Studios won't have HeroScape yet.

Anyone else attending? Not saying we all need to meet up or anything but it might be cool to say hi to some fellow fans from the old neighborhood.

If I would still live in the States, I would go for sure. Wanted to attend since I got back into the hobby have fun!

You're sure to have a good time. Long ago, I participated in a homebrewed, double-board, competitive-team Quest and loved it. It was great to see Hero Quest represented after it had left the shelves.

I don't plan to go this summer, but maybe another year. I look forward to a report from you here, and I expect your Discord channel will generate a lot of interest. Happy gaming!

Are you familiar with Broadsword, a Hero Quest-inspired game made by Teldurn, a formally active Inn member? He's running an event for it, so you might find it worth a look-see.

I've heard of it but don't know much about it otherwise. I tried searching for "broadsword" and "broad sword" but don't find any ticketed listings from the GenCon website. Any help finding it, like a company name, or maybe he's floor walking and just setting up a game somewhere like some of us?

Try Bloody Eye Games as the host/company I don't know if he will have a booth, but I recall more than one event to join.

Thanks for the tip! At best I may be able to use my generic tickets to try to get in on some sessions that have spots open up due to no-shows or cancellations... and I'll be floor walking looking for games after I am tired of bothering the Avalon Hill booth(s).

I would like to know why Hasbro does not publish more online quests... or more online material for HQ.

Other point is why all regular expansions have their own official lore video except ROTWL... do they plan to bring back again the Witch Lord in the future??
