Thank you so much, Daedalus! Nice to see you again around here!

I mostly agree (99%) with your proposals so I will edit the box covers as soon as posible. I will upload it here once finished.

About the Japanese translation project project, yes of course it has been really positive, and now so near to the end. Nevertheless, I have already started a spin-off one, which consist in translating to Spanish all the Japanese components. Not too difficult once we have them in English, so I will also upload the files in the generic thread once finished.

The Spanish translation will be well treated in your capable hands, no doubt. I'm sure the Spanish community will be grateful for the accuracy you will bring to it. And the Inn, too!

Yeah, of course I will try to do my best!

I have detected in this previous post some errors in the Japanese texts extracted from back cover's Area "H":

Previous incorrect extracted text:

エルフ 戦闘力もあり、わずかだが魔法も使える。弓を便い、れた敵を攻撃することができる。
ドワーフ 体つきは小さいが、非常に夫。 手先が器用で、トラップを解除することができる。

Correct extracted text:

エルフ 戦闘力もあり、わずかだが魔法も使える。弓を使い、れた敵を攻撃することができる。
ドワーフ 体つきは小さいが、非常に夫。 手先が器用で、トラップを解除することができる。

Then, correct automatic translations to English would had been:

GOOGLE TRANSLATOR:
Elves also have combat power, and can use a little magic. You can use a bow to attack distant enemies.
A dwarf with a small body, but very mate. The hand is dexterous and can release the trap.

DEEPL TRANSLATOR:
Elf He is also a good fighter and can use magic, although only slightly. May use a bow to attack enemies at a distance.
Dwarf: Small in stature, but very handsome. They are good with their hands and can disarm traps.

YANDEX TRANSLATOR:
There is also an elf fighting power, but magic can also be used. You can use your bow to attack enemies away.
The dwarves are small, but they are very close to each other. They are able to escape the trap.

SYSTRAN TRANSLATOR:
elf They have combat power, and a little magic. You can use a bow to attack a distant enemy.
Dwarves Although she is small in body, she is very friendly. He is clever with his hands and can release the trap.

My best guess, also attending to previous comments from Daedalus:

Elf ------------- A effective fighter, but can also use a little magic. He can use a bow to attack distant enemies.
Dwarf -------- Small in stature, but very strong. He is good with his hands and can disarm traps.

Finally, another minor comment before releasing the box covers final translation to English: we missed to translate the TAKARA Company logo shown in lower right corner of front cover:

Takara_Logo_LR.JPG

Logo's lower row means "Takara" but upper row could be translated as follows:

Original text transcription:

ー あそびは文化

Automatic translations to English:

GOOGLE TRANSLATOR:
- Play is a culture

DEEPL TRANSLATOR:
- Playing is culture

WIKIPEDIA (if you search "Takara company" entry you can check there the Company's official slogan):
- Playing is culture

My best guess:
- Playing is culture

Hi everyone,

I am glad to share with you my edited translated version of the Box covers of Hero Quest's Japanese Edition. I have done it according to previous discussions but of course, it would be improved if needed. Please, check it for comments.

My Thanks to Daedalus, Kurgan & lucapaschi for their invaluable collaboration in this task.

These are the Japanese box covers translated to English, in picture format. Not too high resolution, but I think it is valid for the followed purpose:

Edited message: Previously attached file HQ_Japanese_Box_Front_Cover_in_English_v1.0_by_HispaZargon_[READ-VERSION].jpg has been moved to this post.

Edited message: Previously attached file HQ_Japanese_Box_Back_Cover_in_English_v1.1_by_HispaZargon_[READ-VERSION].jpg has an updated version in this post.

And here you have the related document with the original Japanese box pictures for comparison:

P.D.: Quite interesting to see in the back cover that Japanese editors missed to include in the shown "Contents" list the 2 red dice !!

Great!

That kid in the foreground on the left side of the box is creeping me out, by the way. Inviting him may have been a mistake . . . :bites-lip:

Re: Japanese HeroQuest: Box Translation

Hi, I have slightly updated the box translated back cover in previous post to v.1.1 by changing the following terms to fit better with the rest of already translated components:

- Wizard -> Magician
- Adventure Book -> Book of Adventure
- Rule book -> Rules of Play.

I was not too confortable seeing those terms called in different ways depending where we were looking, so I decided to change them.

Hi, I have updated previous version of box covers translation in order to match with the hero description texts as per last version of Character Boards that I already uploaded here.

Then, here you have the updated document with the original Japanese box pictures for comparison:

And here are again the the corresponding Japanese Front & Back box covers translated to English, in picture format. Not too high resolution, but I think it is valid for the followed purpose:
