Aginns Inn/ Nicodemus's Quests files missing...

Sadly, I don't believe he ever finished part 3, Rogue Wizardry. He put out a small prequel QuestBook for it. I still have that buried around here somewhere.

These were among the first high-quality, well put together expansions, even before HeroScribe. Just wish that part 3 had been done. 20 years ago me would have been orgasmic.

I've been working on the Agin's Inn archive (it's flat and doesn't use any web template tricks, which makes it generally a good target for teaching myself some things.

I've got files for TGOTH, TDOTT, and CQ in part thanks to this page at HeroQuest Adventures, but nothing for Rogue Wizard or its prequel. They're presently sitting in my "todo staging area" for media files from Dewayne's site… I intend to be updating that mess. to be … not a mess.

I intend to do something cool with that content, but for the moment, compare the first entry on Dewayne's quests page with this:

If someone is seeing that and knows what that is, yes, it's Markdown encapsulated in YAML. If you've ever looked at the Jekyll static site generator, you might know that Github Pages lets you use that and I'm taking advantage of it for staging and frankly nicer templating than PHP permits.

Slightly different format to what's on the Agin's Inn page now? Yeah, I know. My original goal with the site was to maintain the content but fix obvious bugs that make it not display properly. And what I realized is that to make it display properly, I had to change the content just a little. Here's how it looks now on a 900px or larger display:



Yeah, I'm not changing the godawful 1998ness of Agin's Inn, in fact I'm having to deliberately learn how to recreate that look we don't often see anymore because it's so easy to make something that looks better and it actually takes more work to recreate the HTML 3.2 look than it does to make it look better.

I had to do something pretty drastic if your screen is < 900px to make it work. You'll see what I did when I'm done coverting table entries to collection files in the above format. (For webby people who know what Jekyll collections are, no, there's no content to the above file currently because Agin's Inn never needed any. YeOldeInn's version will get quest preview pages. I thought I was going to do something original with that, but HeroQuest Adventures already has such a feature. Fine, but HeroQuest Adventures breaks for me if I go under 1360px or so.
