I think the size of this Reaper miniature fits quite well as Warlock new hero with classic HeroQuest miniatures scale:

Considering we noticed this issue with just standard pieces like the staircases? Probably more than we'd like.

I've been assuming if you have the remake tiles you surely have the remake board as well... and even without trying to re-base the remake miniatures...

The furniture is the same size or smaller in the Remake edition so those would work with the classic board just fine. All of the classic pieces will work just fine on the Remake board. The new character minis are compatible with the classic board.

Using the remake tiles can lead to crowding on the classic board... but unless you're trying to play the crypt of perpetual darkness on the classic board I'm not sure the issue.

Is this going to be a concern for people who are buying overpriced mythic boxes on Ebay (as in the Mythic box ONLY, not the whole set) to use with their classic board?

First off you will be able to buy the Game System remake in retail shortly, or if you just want to print your own board for $35-45 from BGM you can do that and save yourself some cash so everything fits perfectly.

I say Mythic, because all of the Remake tiles have analogs in the classic editions other than the three unused "mystery tiles" which, as their name implies, aren't actually used in any quests.... other than Joe's tiles, which other than the two rooms, account for some unique traps (half of which are removed once you chop through them), right? So I'm not sure it's that big a complaint worth worrying about. Others may disagree...

might be a good subject for a video, now that you mention it! (showing how the classic pieces fit on the remake board and vice versa)

This guy had an interesting take on the mythic retail situation here. I don't know if he's here on the forum, but what do you think? I think they could 100% legit release parts of the mythic tier in the future in small boxes (much like the Knight expansion or the Pulse bonus heroes) and still say it was "limited edition" to get them in the "mythic box" for the pledge drive. I am with those who say they hate exclusives and want the community at large (who didn't even have a chance to notice the pledge drive, much less get them). No, Hasbro doesn't owe us all anything, but at the same time, a lot of people did want the new content (and thanks to unboxings they know exactly what it is and what it isn't) and shouldn't "have" to pay scalpers to get a piece of it.

And those who say re-selling is a way of life, they have to do it to pay for their family's medical bills, I wasn't speaking against you. ;)

The only items the page says are limited-time exclusives are the Sir Ragnar, Mentor and Witch Lord figures.

The Sir Ragnar one specifies "this version" of the figure will only be in the crowdfund, which doesn't prevent another figure being sold at retail.
And there's no reference to the Mentor or Witch Lord figures only being available during the campaign; the site just says they're "limited-time exclusives", but doesn't specify how long that limited amount of time actually is.

I think technically the only things on the HasLab crowdfunding campaign that said “exclusive” were the Sir Ragnor, Mentor, and Witch Lord models. None of the other “unlocks” said anything about being exclusive. I think it’s a very realistic assumption that the rest of these are going to come to retail at some point.

Very similar to the “GameStop Exclusive” Knights figures. They’re only GameStop exclusive because GameStop shows them as shipping in November, while other outlets are taking preorders for a January release.

HBO Max was “exclusive” to Apple TV’s (and they promoted it as such) for an entire three months before they released it on other streaming hardware.

Of those, the "Mentor" figure is cool looking, but he's really not of any use in the game at all (except the freebie Rogar's Hall which many have concluded is way too hard for what it's trying to do as a "training quest" to teach you about failure). He's just an alternate for the Wizard (what kind of sense does it make to play with a Wizard who looks just like Mentor who is supposed to be behind the scenes not fighting? his stats would be way bigger than the default wizard, right? it's purely a gimmick, like having Sir Ragnar who is used in only a small part of one quest which to many is an anticlimax as written). The WitchLord is great but I don't think is mini is all that exciting. In the default game we represented this boss and Sir Ragnar with the chaos warlock (dread sorcerer equivalent) now anyway.

Limited Time exclusives...

Yeah "exclusive" meaning right now. A bit like calling a video game "Only on Xbox" (until the time it gets released on playstation). Marketing gimmick... "last chance to own!" "supplies limited!" "this offer won't last long" don't miss out! etc.

For most people there was no choice. By the time they knew HeroQuest was coming back, the pledge drive was long over. They will get to buy the retail version within a short time. That apparently means the Game System and for some at least and probably all later, KK and ROTWL and (if they're lucky) the Knights too.

They are wide open to release that other stuff "due to popular demand." They didn't promise to smash the molds for the other figures after fulfilling the pledge drive did they? These are plastic game tokens, not commemorative jewelry pieces. Think of the millions they could rake in selling them piecemeal over time... certainly they'd undercut that (very limited) scalper market.

Put that credit card away and get off of Ebay. This isn't the time to enrich those folks, just wait. We all waited a year, what's a few more months? Or spend that money on a classic set, which will run you about $175 for game system and $70-90 each for KK/ROTWL (tip: buy piecemeal, "complete in box" isn't always worth it, if it's even accurate!). But absolutely no reason to pay somebody on ebay to get the Game System!

Game System... Game System... so Heroic Tier is shipping December... for Canada at least? 'Bout time, eh?

(sorry, couldn't resist, just Yankin' yer chain there... I'll show myself out)

I'm happy to hear people are getting their games finally. And I am curious to see any differences in packaging with the Heroic tier for contrast (guessing it's just missing the other three boxes).
