Going through that latest video, it looks like the quest Lair of the Orc Warlord is still exactly the same. Still says to use the orc with the large sword for Ulag. We don't have a unique orc in the new set. Something that they overlooked maybe?

As Kurgan pointed out earlier, the text remains unchanged from the original NA release of '91. I assume the monsters on the map are also the same, as the unboxing videos indicate. Since Ulag is the only Orc in the room he occupies, any Orc figure can be used without affecting the combat (most likely.) The large sword is only there for fluff. Knowing this, I believe AH left the exact Orc-with-the-large-sword choice up to Zargon. Ulag can now be a papa or mama warlord.

Added my own impressions to the spoiler discussions of the Mythic Tier new quest packs (still linkable from Cael's threads in the opening post here).

I sent out an email so if you want to talk among yourselves before posting or share links or whatever, feel free. I think at this point we all know what we're getting into so it won't be so hard to decide if you want to break the seal on it.

GS details (thanks again deadgamer)... (Rulebook says the GS contains 93 game cards). Not really "spoilers," ...

I see that the "Black Banner" is still the Black Banner (surprised they didn't change it to the "Dark Banner") in the Game System Rulebook introduction.

Zargon is still spoken of very generically (not identifying his gender, calling him an evil sorcerer, etc).

Rogar, Ladril, Telor and Durgin, the Star of the West... are all still there. Empire/Emperor is the Realm/The King, Chaos is now Dread (as we all know).

The intro refers to "good warriors" instead of "brave/good men" perishing.

SEA OF CLAWS has been changed to "SEA OF TALONS." (/Napoleon Dynamite voice) Other than those word substitutions, the intro story text appears unchanged.

You may only attack with one weapon at a time (unchanged).

The Armory is a concept... the game uses Equipment cards now, but the "stock" is never depleted, even if all of the cards are being held by players. You can buy anything you can afford, in other words.

The rulebook recommends that while anyone can play Zargon, someone must do it and it is probably best if it's the person most familiar with the game. Shuffle treasure cards before each quest (that part is unchanged from the classic NA). A few pages later it says bad cards put back into the deck. It says the deck must be shuffled before a card is drawn, but it isn't explicit that means EVERY SINGLE TIME or just at the beginning of each new quest.

The Glimpse into the World of HeroQuest text appears unchanged as far as I can see.

You are allowed to share your gold with your fellow heroes.

The visible/line of sights rules for spell targeting is the same as the classic NA (right down to the drawing of the rays pointing to the targets that the person can hit).

Why would anyone have bought one if they didn't want to keep it and open it, besides the retailers and scalpers who always planned from the start to resale it? I don't think anyone was on the fence who backed a couple hundred dollars.

Impulse buy...? Maybe a person finds out what's in the new quests and decides they don't want to support it anymore? That's what we were thinking.
Almost a full year ago today people pledged sight unseen (for the Mythic tier, anyway).

I wouldn't assume a person who wants to return a product they paid for has impure motives (and I trust everyone knows my thoughts on scalping, no need to get into it again).

So no judgement here. Hasbro offered refunds on unopened up to 90 days. Why would they do that? All sales are NOT final, unless you unseal the boxes.

Whew... !

sort of accurate, 93 "game" cards means cards used DURING play I suppose. It appears not to include the turn instruction or player cards.
Back of the "new" GAME SYSTEM box lists 93 GAME CARDS, 4 CHARACTER CARDS, 4 TURN-ORDER CARDS.
