Heroquest remake by Hasbro - The BIG discussion thread

at some point we are going to need a whole new forum section for the "HasbroQuest"rerelease.

because it is all ready apparently drastically different from the original game it should have its own section.

I was thinking the same. Would be cool if it gets its own section eventually, otherwise its gonna be a mess to navigate the forum. I dont even consider it to be Heroquest

It seems that the game system, KK, and ROTWL still might be a "true to spirit" rerelease of the original with whatever changes were necessary to remove GW content such as fimir, chaos warriors, and warhammer world text references, but the new content surrounding the druid, warlock, bard and Spirit Queens Torment Questbook feel much more like a reboot and departure from the original rather than additions to the HeroQuest game.
Makes me really wonder if the Stephen Baker Questbook will feel like a continuation and addition to the original game or be a departure and distinctly different in line with the other new material presented?

I really hope that it won’t come to the point where we effectively have a new game which needs to go into a separate sub-forum etc.

After the initial shock of seeing that the re-release wouldn’t be available in the UK, I saw that it had artwork and figures that i didn’t really care for, and that it wouldn’t actually be a big deal that I couldn’t get the game. I quickly changed my thinking to being happy that the new edition, although it looked a bit different, was fundamentally the same as the old game, and we would get an influx of new players to enjoy our hobby. It could only be a good thing.
But seeing, the latest developments, I’m starting to worry that a Hasbro are going to break up that happy little arrangement

So you might say (good or bad) that it is bringing folks to talk together about HeroQuest.

I’m still a little confused as to why there are so many people on the Heroquest Facebook threads that don’t seem to know about this place. I can see a lot of them asking for exactly the kind of things that we have here in abundance, and yet they have never heard of us it seems.

I'm not allowed in the group (I "applied" for admission many months ago... but was never accepted). Tell those n00bs to come over here and join the fun! Granted, we may be overrun, but if they are truly fans, more the merrier, I say!

It's called Comercialization. This website was made by people with love for the game. It blew me away when I first found out about it, and that was quite by accident.
Facebook was made by millionaires to capitalize off of trends, genre and anything else the populace gets excited about. They categorize people with algorithms based on posts and likes. It all goes into one Giant database for analysis. This gives them a better idea on selling standpoints and marketing for specific types of people. It also reads into people's personal and political views so the media can continue telling people what they want to hear, or marking others who have a different method of thinking.

So if this website was more about making money or focused on everyone's personal beliefs there'd be more advertisements and links found all over the internet about this place. But it's just for a fanbase with love for a particular board game.

Anyone here first play HeroQuest and think where are the female monsters? That wasn’t even a thought. They were just monsters. Are they male or female? Who knows, who cares... Now this new version is all about it. I just don’t get it. Even Kessandria used the same stand-in figure and no one cared.

I've always consider the Giant Wolves to be females...
