The goblin in the new artwork for the KK expansion is a good example of how bad the new aesthetic is in my opinion.
When I saw the original KK box it fired up my imagination like nothing else; the sense of peril on the rocky ledge, the expression on the orcs face, the magical brute coming through the rock wall...all that is lost when i see the new goblin, I just want to roll around laughing.
It’s a similar story with the game system box. I spent literal hours drinking in the exquisite details of the original. Now when I look at the new one I’m just bemused; why the CW has a shield larger than he is? Why is the Elf twice as big as the skeleton that’s stood on the same step? Why do the orcs look like the ones from world of Warcraft. Why does the Barbarian look like he:s made of wax, and why on earth is the gold face on his sword guard bigger than his own head?!?

I don't disagree with you, at all. But, let's be fair here, there are worse things to be upset about. Overall, they did a pretty solid job, and the bigger takeaways (which some have said here), is the renewed excitement in this game. I have 2 small children, who will be forced into loving this game when they get a little bigger LOL.

Can the owners of this site let us know if they see an significant increase in new accounts to the site?

One thing I'll say, it's not wrong to find fault with the artwork. Artwork is a big part of the the game! (both in terms of selling and playing). I'm happy the rules weren't ruined, that's the basic core.

I'll be frank here, if this was something a fan put together, I'd be giving it five stars, two thumbs up for sheer quality. But this is an OFFICIAL RELEASE. So it must be compared to the source material and judged accordingly that's all there is to it. Yeah, the Goblins belong with a different set entirely, alongside big headed barbarian and big nose dwarf. You could make a whole cartoon caricature set and they'd look great there. Chaos Warriors are covered in armor, so giving them a giant shield seems like overkill, I agree. The Dwarf having an axe that's as big as his body seems more of a problem. If anime (and the rgps it has inspired) has taught us anything, it's that the bigger the melee weapon, the more powerful, no matter what.

Really torn on if the artwork is fun and whimsical or just nonsensical...

Anyone can check this with the Members button found at the top banner of the forums on the right-hand side. Since the beginning of this topic on 9/12, 24 new members have joined.

Applying some basic math, .7 members have joined per day on average since the start of the Inn. Compare that to 2 members per day since this topic began.
