I'm aware these aren't playtested, but since the book says the heros may encounter a werewolf in the quest, does that mean that the giant wolves in teh quest aren't werewolves and only the wandering monsters are?

Or are all giant wolf pictures in this quest werewolves?

I believe they are different. The elf archmage uses a spell that summons the giant wolves, and the map has some giant wolves as well.
The Werewolf curse is different, and turns the heroes into werewolves. But you can use the same miniatures of course. I've ordered some werewolves myself, walking on hind legs with torn clothing. Still need some regular dire wolves too.

I never actually noticed this when playtesting through this quest pack.
None of the quest notes make any specific distinction of werewolves, as most of the giant wolves are just that. I assumed during playtesting that the quest notes would say when there's a werewolf as opposed to a Giant Wolf. Why else add wolvesbane potions if there were none? (Right, never playtested). Although there is a spell to inflict the curse.

But it is meantioned earlier in the quest booklet, under 14. Turning Heroes into Werewolves. A specific note in this section says that all Giant wolves are considered Werewolves only in quest 7. I completely missed this the first time I playtested through it. But it appears that all Giant wolves in Quest 7 can turn heroes into a Werewolf.
