Finished FH last night on app and had a problem.
I had saved it between quests(9 and 10) so when I loaded up I continued, and found the key to FHs room.
Moved back to stair type, moving all my Mercs back to stairs first then the heros.
When it went back to quest 9 map none of my Mercs were there?
I had to finish off big blue with just my Heros, but luckily app doesn't handle his spells well, so was easy.
Seriously they need to find a way to finish the quest.without having to move every single character all the way back to the start.
Very tiresome.

The treasure deck does contain 3 healing potions, and I usually get 10 or 11 of the good cards per quest. I do play where every hero can search the room because that is what it says in the rules, which means I fight around 20 wandering monsters each quest. I do four searches per room until I find 10 good cards, then I only do one search per room since the odds of drawing a good card are not very good after that. That is usually the point where wandering monster damage takes its toll if its a tougher monster like an Abomination, Mummy, or Dread Warrior. Four searches per room makes the game much harder, which is why the multiple wandering monsters in FH and MotM are so ridiculous.

Basically I started from the beginning playing the rules and quests “as is” using the companion app. There were multiple goals for doing this:

1. Play through the Game System and report all the treasure and belongings I acquired, so people can use that information to start a later quest pack without having to play through the main quests again.

2. Use the companion app and document any weird things that happen or to see how it handles certain situations.

3. Gather as much gold and as many healing potions as I can in preparation for FH and MotM to see what it actually takes to finish those packs as written.

4. Try out new heroes periodically to see how they play.

I haven’t played with the same heroes the entire time, I usually switch it up a bit depending on the quest pack. I currently have a pool of 8 heroes. I have yet to find a way to include the Monk and Warlock.

So far it has been like this:
GS: Four main base heroes
New Beginnings: The B Team (Knight, Druid, Bard, and Rogue) play this quest at the same time as the other heroes are battling the Witch Lord. I see it as the newer heroes stopping Zoryana from flanking the king as rides to face Zargon’s host.
KK: Two Veterans (Dwarf and Wizard) with the novice Knight and Druid
RotWL: Two veterans (Barbarian and Elf) with novice Bard and Rogue.
PoT: Four base heroes again
Next: Probably FH unless The Spirt Queen’s torment becomes available soon. I haven’t decided my party yet for the next step.

Good luck searching four times each room in FH mate!!!
Them Yetis and PWs will murder you when they come two at a time, that's without the ones on the map and wandering monster traps as well!!

I doubt I will search more than once per room in those quests. Too many times I had heroes draw four wandering monsters while searching a single room. Idk if I could take 3 monsters at once per hero. Even with over 100 healing potions, I think it will be suicide. Especially 2 Polar Warbears, I think I would be afraid to search for treasure at all.

Yeah to be honest, I didn't search much either, only when there a chest or furniture.
The undetectable wandering monster traps are bloody murder for the Mercs.
I had a scout that tripped one with two PWBs, and they wiped out 5 Mercs in two turns.

The FH quest book reminds me of a video I saw on youtube about a group of friends who played heroquest as kids, and revisited the game many years later as adults. When looking over notes for old quests they had someone read off a note that mentioned all monsters in this quest are invisible, and all traps are undetectable. I got a good laugh out of that. I don’t remember what it was called though. The FH is like a real life version of that actually made by game designers.

The Merc bug was supposedly fixed several versions ago. What version of the App are you using? Granted version 2.0-2.1 have the bug where you can't ever pass through monsters, even if it should be allowed.

On the app it says version 2.1
Yes I also have the not being able to move through monsters as well problem.
I won't be using Mercs again on the app, it's too long winded.
I'll just boost my Heros with some more healing potions.
Or run 5 Heros, I suppose to do that I can just hire one Merc and boost his stats on the app to match those of the extra hero I select.
Imagine Barb, Dwarf. Knight, Elf and Wizard!!!
God wills it!!!!!

Good idea about using a Merc as a stand in for the 5th hero in the app! Pity you can only use mercs in certain quests in there.
