After your post today I was playing that game again. I replaced the dead figures by blood specks. That's a little bit cleaner.

I'm inside the Kellar's Keep and I do the backup of the savegame.txt after every quest.

As Anderas said, I'm more than happy to update the graphics. Though you can change them yourself with a small amount of effort.

Nice to see you back man!

Say, if I theoretically would want to make a level for your game, what would I have to do to make it work?

Does your game read heroscribe xml files?

Thanks, it's been a while.

Unfortunately, the levels are hard coded into the game, therefore you won't be able to create your own. I've always had plans for a quest editor but have never gotten enough time to get around to it.

First of all, THANKS for this masterpiece you've created.

I would to replace some .gif, but I don't know where to find better ones. Inside Amiga Heroquest I've not found any gif.
I can draw, but .gif images have a style that is not the mine.

I found a bug!

1. I retried the Trial today, and killed Verag, and it counted as failed. One Hero died.
2. When I wanted to replay the Trial, he didn't let me choose spells
3. The dead hero stayed dead

It is as if the Quest was not reset?

When I saved and quit, and restarted, the dead hero was replaced.
But I still couldn't choose Spells.

Also, I have to enter a new name for the heros every time I start a quest.

I've learnt to backup the save game files each time I pass the quest, so if I meet a bug I can restart. And I get a list of saved quests to play again :)

I just recently found this while watching amalgamash on youtube. Awesome job on creating this! It would be great if you could get the editor done to be able to add the other quest packs. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of work that went into creating the game.

Hopefully someone will see this that can help me. I found this after watching AmalgamAsh's video a few days ago, after a little trial and error, I figured out how to get it up and running and I've been addicted ever since! So great to play one of my favorite board games of all time like this!! But...I have hit a snag and I'm hoping someone might be able to help.

While going through Quest 8 of Kellar's Keep, I opened the chest with the last piece of Grin's map and was making it through the level, when one of my characters, after being commanded to disarm a trap, suddenly began flying off of the screen. I was able to get the others to the wooden door, hoping I could continue on after opening the door, as this had happened once before, but that just so happened to be the character that had all of the map pieces, so I guess without them out the door, the game would not give me an option to exit and complete the quest. So I exited the game, turned it back on, hoping I would just redue the quest. And it did, but now when I open the chest for the map piece, I get a random treasure draw INSTEAD of the map, and when I get to the door and complete the quest, it says I haven't completed the previous quest and have to redue it. I tried going into the save file and putting a 4 on the item line that has Grin's map, which does show in the game, but completing it like that still doesn't finish the quest.

So I'm hoping someone can tell me what I can either change or get rid of in the save file that will allow me to start the quest out fresh, like I"ve never done it before, or will just let me mark it as complete so that I can go on to the next one. If it will help, I will post the error log and the save file. Thanks!!!

p.s. worse come to worse, maybe someone has a save file at the 9th quest that hasn't done the Witchlord pack yet they could post for me to use???? As long as everyone pretty much has the majority of the equipment, that will work too!!
