Custom HeroQuest Box

I didn't want my painted figures to get all scratched when I threw them in with each other and all the furniture so I wanted to build a box for them. Then it turned into a bit of a project and I made this-

I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out in the end considering I've never really worked with wood before. Naturally, I didn't do the engraving, that was already on the edging strips I bought.

That is beyond awesome! You have no idea how jealous I am. See? Green with envy!

Now I'll have to make my own box because it just looks so cool. Then I'll use the scrap wood to make a kick @$$ table! Or mayhaps I should do that the other way around... :?

Thanks for sharing this project with us. |_P

alright.....where do i order one?

by the way, I would like my card area set for US sized cards, or and instead of the 'circle/stars' pattern around the exterior, I'd like to see a WhiteShield/BlackShield/Skull pattern....if you're taking opinions...

AWESOME JOB!!!! Now, if my table turns out 1/100th as good, I'll be happy!

I would make them to order but all the sawing and sanding hurt my arms :( so they would be prohiditively expensive. I can do some kind of information sheet explaining how it was made if anyone needs to know how.

I do have to get the furniture painted el_flesh, your's looks really good.

I do like the skulls shields idea. I wonder how one would go about getting that engraved in the wood?

plenty of online guides for painting. make sure to spray on a base primer first - not thick!
My guys sprayed it in black primer first.

Post the information here, I'm sure we'd all like to have a copy. :D Not sure how to go about the carving other than by hand. Unless you have some sort of machine shop with the engraving programmed in. But who can afford that when you have hobbies like HeroQuest?
