DnD Tiles?

So I went to one of my local game shops today, and I was looking through their gaming stuff. Not only did I find some
VERY cool looking figures for the game (including a female elf), I happened to come across the D&D set of city/sewer cardstock tiles for their D&D miniatures game.
I was wondering..since it was only $20 for the set...is how well it could be used for HeroQuest? I think that the D&D tiles are 1 inch x 1 inch if I remember correctly. Would they fit on the HeroQuest game board?
Heres a link to what I found:

For an excellent example of how these tiles can be used for HeroQuest, check out Sjeng's just-released Quest pack compilation, Into the Sewers:

Yes and No.
The squares of Heroquest have an odd size, that can only be determined by measuring them on the actual board. I measured the whole length of the board (without rims) and divided by the number of squares, which resulted in 2.27 cm, which I use since. Other people got slightly other results somewhere right to the decimal point.
So:
Yes, the squares are really near to an inch, and 1'' stock fits the figures and furniture perfectly. You can definitely use it to play Heroquest on it.
No, when you want to use them as overlais, like the custom rooms in Return of the Witchlord or Frozen Horror. They won't fit on the board.

Yup, that's essentially what I wanted to say:
use them as stand-alones to play on or in combination with 1'' paper or other stuff as "their DM does it" - figures fit perfectly well.
If you want to use them as overlays on the original board (as their DM does not) it will not work.

This is the way to go after the standard HQ board, "One small step for HQ, one giant leap for Mankind". Lots of alternate passages & rooms out there, found some very nice alternate doors on the "Greywolf Advanced heroquest "site.

Who would believe it

Is this a step beyond?
