Painting the ogre miniatures

Hello all, I need you advice.
I've never painted an ogre figure and I'm about to paint some this summer.
I think I'll be glueing their movable arms in one place, so it will be easier to paint and varnish and to prevent any damages to the paint once they have been painted.
I mean, does anyone really have to move their arms about? They are not meant to be action figures!
So anyway, that's my take, if anyone has any good points to make against glueing them, I'd be glad to hear them out.
Also if anyone has painted ogres before and has any good tips feel free to share them with me.

I'd glue them. But I use GW ogres (easier to get and I actually like them better), and those are static. Still, glue them.

I'd also glue them and fill out those HUGE gaps with liquid green stuff or something.
How are you gonna paint them? Personally I'm a fan of the bluish skin color schemes I see in the Warhammer hobby for the Ogres.

Thank you both. That's all the reassuring I needed to glue them! I'm filling the gaps at the moment using milliput, I don't have any liquid green stuff.
For colour schemes I'm not sure what's that blueish skin you're talking about but I was thinking just a regular colour schemes like the ones from the cards.

The last ogre horde minis were painted grey skinned. I liked that look as well. The newest ogres from GW are regular flesh toned. Not bas either. Can't decide how to paint mine...

The AD&D Monstrous Manual describes them as being yellow to brown, with black eyes that have yellow irises. That's one look you could consider.

I can't say I like the blue skin. To be honest I don't think I can achieve it either.
I think I'll go for regular skin colour as is shown on the cards. After all, they are my first ogres, my hands are trembling just looking at them.
