Idea for extra/new miniatures

I ran across some lego stuff at the store this evening. I looked it up on the lego website.
This could be a neat source for miniatures that you might not be able to find elsewhere (ghosts, for example)

http://thelordoftherings.lego.com/en-us ... fault.aspx

Check out the kingdoms page - there is a LOT of stuff there that could probably be useful.

Legos in HeroQuest? I dunno. It already has too much of a "toy" vibe. Adding Lego figures would push it further in that direction in my humble opinion.

each to their own, certainly as a quick and easy supply of figures i cant see why not. theirs a thread with a very good lego based board. wouldn't really like it myself but if you and your players don't mind - i cant see why not!

I needed a cleric with a lantern for playtesting of the quest pack I am writing. I had to raid my sons lego collection to find something suitable.

Lego doesn't really work for me and I will be buying something similar to this felllow from Reaper as a long term solution.

On a similar note, I don't have a giant spider!!

While I don't think legos belong in HQ as we know it, I would gladly play an all lego dungeon crawler.
Imagine the custom dungeons you could build. And there are lots of monsters and equipment you can use.

Does it exist?

Well what can ya do, if LEGOS is all you got? They're expensive enough, godammit. Poor RW, the bent sword on his Barb makes my eye twitch as much as it being unpainted neon red. Check it out Road Warrior - you can get your minis painted for you if you don't have the skill yourself. I get my minis painted because I'm a hopeless dolt when it comes to painting them. All I have skill for is to base them with Gesso.

I think unpainted barbarians with bent swords have a long and honored tradition. I wouldn't have it any other way, although being in the US means my heroes are more of a maroon color. Any minis in my colection that arrived painted spent several days in a jar of Simple Green before being attacked by the toothbrush which is a two-handed weapon.

I never even knew you could paint them when I was younger and I only rescued the game from my parents house a couple of months ago (it hasn't been used in over 25 years!). I have made lots of hints about wanting new miniatures, drawn up a list of the ones I want so we can play through the expansion packs and mentioned many times that I would like to have a go at painting them next year. Hopefully Santa has been listening.
