Darkwater, a new addition to the Warhammer Quest family. I've been reading up on it and watched a reviewer on Youtube.
- skirmish game for one to four players
- 49 miniatures, must be assembled (and hopefully painted), seven are possible player characters
- maps are kept in a hardbound book whick opens to lie flat rather than a board or seperate tiles
- campaign progresses as a story tnrough multiple Acts
- unlock new items and characters for later playthroughs

I see the game is actually in retail now, so...
Any forum members have a copy yet and care to share their thoughts?

Yeah, have the game and just today finished the first run of act 2. What kinda questions do you want answered? Currently it's a solid 8.5/10 for me.

For dungeon crawler boardgames I have WQ Silver Tower and HeroQuest. I also have the D&D games Castle Ravenloft and Wrath of Ashardalon by WizKids and several versions of Zombicide by CMON. While I do not regret purchasing Silver Tower it has not seen playtime like the other games. The rules, especially sharing fate dice, and the theme are a little too deep for my younger kids.

I saw Darkwater uses a map book rather than tiles or a gameboard. Miniatures look good. So, WQ Darkwater, 8.5 rating out of 10, but what do you consider the best characteristics?
Enjoyable?
Challenging?
Easy to setup?
Complexity of gameplay?
Replaybility?

For me quick setup with easily understood rules for gameplay are important. Total playtime usually needs to be less than an hour to keep the kids focused.
