I really enjoyed AHQ when it came out, but one of the main problems I encountered, which quickly made the game too easy and thus boring, was the quick and easy acquisition of fate points. Is this issue addressed in the enhanced rules?

I'm afraid vanilla AHQ is bland, repetitive, and boring indeed—a sad waste of its potential, if you ask me—but for some weird reason (misplaced nostalgia, in my opinion), the paradigm standard is to value and preserve its flaws as if they were game-enhancing features. It still beats me after all these years.

I agree, and I’ve addressed this to some extent in this edition. See the screenshot from the rulebook below, which can be found on page 84.

This prevents veteran Heroes from saving all their Fate Points for the final battle and burning through them all at once. That way, there’s still some tension in every fight along the way.

Thank you, Dieter!

That solves the problem for EAHQ 2nd Edition, but my point is that it still relies on the Heroes exploiting doorways to survive; fix that (and add stronger enemies and bigger, more dangerous dungeons as the characters develop), and you wouldn't need to limit FPs in the first place. As I've said in other threads, it's all about character survival rates. Happy gaming!

I must have hit a nerve or something, and this must be a very popular thread; it's the first time in nine years that I see that many guests online.
