Turning Undead

I've updated my turning mechanic. It's based on the old (and maybe the current) D&D effects (turn to dust, turn away, turn to your side). I've got it as a limited use special ability for a couple of my heroes but it could also be a spell or something given by a magic item.

Turning
Roll a combat dice to see if the Turning succeeds and then roll a combat dice for each Undead Monster in the same room or corridor if the Turning is successful. Turning doesn't require an action but can only be attempted once per turn.

Turn
:skull: = Succeeds.
:whiteshield: = Fails but doesn't waist the Turning.
:blackshield: = Fails and does waist the Turning.

0MP Undead
:skull: = Turned to dust (can't get back up or be reanimated).
:whiteshield: = Forced to move as far away as possible from the Turner on their next turn and can perform no other action.
:blackshield: = Under the Turner's control until the Turner fails to roll under their MP at the start of each new round.

>0MP Undead
:skull: = -1BP.
:whiteshield: = Misses their next turn.
:blackshield: = -1MP.

I don't know if I like the :blackshield: outcome...
Any sensible player would always save his turning attempt till the end of his turn, making it sort of moot.

Move, attack, turn
NEVER turn, move, attack

Could the negative outcome be something that would always have an effect?

* the undead immediately get a free action
* Roll a die. If it's a skull the hero lose 1MP
* All undead in same room or corridor may immediately move up to 2 squares

There's no negative outcome. 0MP/>0MP
:skull: Dead (and can't get back up which my undead can normally do if they're not finished off)/-1BP.
:whiteshield: Forced to move away on their next turn/Miss their next turn.
:blackshield: Under the hero player's control/-1MP.
