Heroquest condensed mod

My idea is to made a more condensed version of heroquest, let me explain:

The quests are not consecutive, the survivors can not use their characters, equipment or treasures for another quest. Each quest is a unique adventure.

In against part, add a hidden store on the board, most hidden objects, I use almost all the board for a quest, more monsters and more traps.

Exemple of quests :

STORE :
Once the store discovered the player characters present in the store can sell
or buy equipment or hire the services of a man of arms. The store location
and objects available from the dealer are shown in the notes to the quest.

Mercenaries
Each adventurer may engage one Mercenarie if availaible in the store. To engage a Mercenaries, an adventurer must pay the entry fee, which is on Mercenarie card. This last remains with the character and fights his side until he is killed or is the quest
end.

But why though?

For what purpose are you doing this?

For one-off or rare sessions with not so invested groups?

That's what I was thinking too. This approach would make it less of a campaign-driven story and more of a single-session board game. By utilizing more of the board in a single shot, one could lengthen the individual game and possibly leave the group feeling like they had done some exploration without feeling like they have to play another quest to get their fill.

I'll be curious to hear how play-testing goes.

Personally, I like the more episodic long-game for weekly meet-ups or what have you. But for a single session at say a local game-day or something, I can see this idea having merit.

maj!

Yes exactly, for one-off or rare sessions with not so invested groups

I specified that in this mod,
I don't use the Character Sheet,
I use little red and yellow markers to represent wounds of body and mind,
I use all the game cards by double (equipment card, spell card, treasure card)
