Allied HeroQuest: Descent into Darkness

To play "Allied HeroQuest", you will need one copy of the boardgame "HeroQuest" from Milton Bradley and one copy of the boardgame "Advanced HeroQuest" from Games Workshop.
AHQ combines the good things from both games, flavoured with exiting gameplay from the boardgame "Descent: Journeys in the Dark" from Fantasy Flight Games. ("Descent" is not needed to play AHQ.)

The idea behind the creation of AHQ was to use the no-nonsense gameplay and wonderful miniatures from "HeroQuest"
and mix this with the challenging gameboard components from "Advanced HeroQuest".
Both HeroQuest games mentioned above had a minor flaw. Playing the Game Master could be a boring task. There was not much room for cunning tactics, and it was hard to kill some heroes. With ideas from various computer games and the magnificent boardgame "Descent", "Allied HeroQuest" was born!

Easy combat and exploration game mechanics, wonderful miniatures, variable gameboard, and vicious slaying. And all this without printing new tiles, cards, etc. And without buying new stuff (at least not for die-hard fans who obviously allready have one copy of "HeroQuest" and "Advanced HeroQuest.")

Allied HeroQuest offers revised versions of all original Quests, 8 heroes, deadly tactical Game Master playing experience,
easy to learn combat, variable dungeons, ... And all this to be played in a reasonable amount of time. Quests will never take more than 2 hours. The heroes really must hurry to fullfill their quest.

Result: The Game Master is a player. Spawn points are used for tactical deployment of monsters. Heroes can leave and enter the dungeon after they discover exits (Glyphs). A non fixed board is used. Easy to learn gameplay from Milton Bradley's "HeroQuest" remains. No new items should be bought nor printed. One Quest contains all addictive gameplay like combat, exploring, upgrading, discovering treasure and buying new goodies. Either the Game Master wins, or the heroes.

More soon...

Good.
I reworked my rules too and did a huge work those last months.
drathe just let me know he had some free time to traduce it so we're going to start as soon as possible.
The mix is impressive you'll see.

I changed almost NOTHING of the old HeroQuest rules. Just merged them with ideas from Descent and the board + tiles from Advanced HeroQuest.

Find the rules here:

Great site, great PDF's, it all looks exceptionally professional. Belgium surely rocks.

1 thing tho': when will all these great looking expansions be finished?

PS: I tried to email you, but no address on the site?

I wish they were ready now. But life, private and professional has other ideas about spare time :) Short: I lack the time to finish my drafts.

I recently acquired a copy of advanced heroquest and read about allied heroquest. It seems really interesting! I would like to write an article on the blog, or maybe are you interested to do so by yourself ? Just PM me then :)
