Ye Olde Inn

I've been having a solo play through of this and found a few problems. I had the old version and a hunt around this site found the following link of a much better looking conversion in which the author solved all my queries; good job!

The one thing I would mention for anyone playing this, is that the original author included an artifact card for a very powerful healing potion that can heal all the Heroes at the same time. He also mixed up the naming of the healing potions found throughout the questpack, but in only one instance does he refer to the artifact card (Quest 3), and this is where I am sure it is to be found. The newer version also has the Artifact potion found in Quest 1, which I don't think was the intention.

I also think the Familiar scroll should be tighter. Being a small black cat, aahh, would imply that the Hero may not be attacked, otherwise what would be the point, but that should be set out in the text. There are other issues such as can the cat move through monsters, occupy the same square as a Hero, jump up on the table and demand to be fed (mine do), be affected by area spells such as Firestorm? But for simplicity the cat Hero should comply to all the normal rules.

I've been looking at this one recently and thinking about making some changes to the whole thing. Maybe creating a new Quest Pack and using this as a base. I'll keep these things in mind as I'm going through it.

I like that it's got Chaos Dwarves, but I'd probably add Skaven instead of Chaos Archers to make those the major enemies of the Quest Pack. The Dragon sounds good as the final boss like the Frozen Horror or Sinestra, and I'd probably add in Minotaurs as the big beefy enemies just for fun.

Basically what I'm saying is that I need a Dwarf Quest pack for my campaign to go with the Barbarian, Elf, and Wizard ones that I have now, and this seems like a nice start.

I had a fast look and immediately noticed 2 things:
1) quest 4 is called "the rescue"!
2) Can't find the entrance to quest 8!
It is from 2001, so yes, it may need some retouch, but I will not spend energies to make 2.0 versions of previous questbooks. I'd prefer to work on new or official ones.
But maybe you can contact chaosorc (if that email is still in use) and ask him if he would like to make an update?
