Yeah those are cool. The ice bow, the lightning axe and the fire sword? If someone can translate them for me, I can create new cards.

by the way, why are there 4 potions in the equipment cards? are they healing potions you can buy?

For the cover, I would suggest the drawing at the end of the questbook. I'll try and make a cover tomorrow, so you can see what I mean ;)

I like this latest quest. Splitting the Heroes up is always a good idea.

Are artifacts even included in the quests? There haven't been any this far? (Or did I miss them?)

Yup, there are three new weapons specific to the elf, dwarf, and barbarian, and the wizard gets a specific artifact thing too. Then there is a weird "level-up-a-stat" gem thing.

This latest quest offers some very neat ideas - for splitting the heroes up, and basically turning the
quest into three small solo quests, as the doors into each "section" cannot be entered from the outside.

I do question the design and the play-ability of a quest such as this. Even if the barbarian had gone through
the first three official published quests, and had bought armor and weapons and gotten treasure, I have
serious doubts that he would survive his portion of this game. Two mummies right from the start, and
then three orcs and a fimir together, and top it off with a gargoyle...and that is assuming he has at least
one or two healing potions with him.

And I wonder that the other heroes would fair any better on their portions of this game.

It is a great idea, though. I just think the design has some flaws.

As far as new artifact and treasure cards...I would like to see those, as well.

There is a strong desire rising in my heart to translate it to Portuguese (even though I'm the only Brazilian here)...

Great job so far. Aside from Quest 7, there are so few monsters, I would put this before or after the main system of quests. Or maybe with a new set of heroes in kind of an alternate universe, since it seems similar yet different from the quests we're familiar with. I would also adjust quest rewards and treasure chests accordingly. If after the main system, then maybe smaller rewards; if after KK or RotWL, larger rewards. I'd also make sure treasure chests weren't empty. I hate it when that happens. But really, I'm impressed with your version so far, bastianbux. Keep up the good work. |_P

I didn't notice this at first, but you might want to add a note about where the Heroes start this quest. Normally the Heroes start on the stairs tile or at some kind of entrance door. At first glance, I thought they'd start in room F, even though quest notes generally go in A-B-C order. It's a tiny thing, but you might want to think about it. Also, you could possibly add an X mark of some kind in room F to represent where the Ghost Ship Captain stands, but it's not too important either.

Yeah, I think this quest looks extremely tough too. But is it even comparable? Didn't Bux mention a leveling system? Maybe that accounts for the sudden increase in difficulty?

No, I agree. I thought this too when I first read the quest. Only speaking on my own behalf here, but as Morcar you tend to just skim the map and the A,B,C quest notes.
I'm all in favor of addin X's where the players start - And if it can be squeezed in, a note explaining it. It's just the right way to go! :2cents:

It does mention in the note above A that the Heroes start in the central room. I could add Xs for them, though. And about the Captain, my understanding from that note is that he stands right where the F is, right on the other side of the door. :D

Quest 8:

[updated on page 9]

Also, I'm a bit concerned. I think that Glindeddo (or Glindel in my version) is actually meant to be "Grimdead" because the notes mention the Heroes traveling to the "Kingdom of Glindeddo"... but there is no such place on the map. But there IS a "Kingdom of Grimdead"... and knowing how things are in Japanese-to-English or vice versa... looks like "Glindeddo" was actually meant to be Grimdead. So I'm going to have to edit the quests that mention him.

They switch a bit between how to represent characters on the map. Some times there is a monster and a letter; the quest note explaining that the monster is the character. But some times there is just the letter and it is assumed the character stands on said letter.

*Edit* - "They" meaning the creators of all the original questbooks
