FYI: none of your monsters / adversaries have mind points. This is problematic for the Sleep spell.

The quest looks very long.

My experience with the book was that getting out of the maze was the most interesting/challenging part. To simulate the confusion and necessitate the players drawing a map, I would copy the book exactly here. You could use a separate board with many generic sections and just "teleport" the heroes from one section to another. This becomes very confusing if they step through a one/way door and/or get gassed and have no idea where they. You could also add an unknown number of movement spaces and twists and turns (per the book) between sections where you show the heroes... this would really throw them off. :)
Has resigned from the forum and would delete his account if he could.

Thanks for that. I should have noted that the Warlock has Mind 6. The intention was that any other movement or mind stats not mentioned would carry the same value as the monster that is being used to represent them, so Dragon Mind 4, Cyclops Mind 3 etc.

I did consider making a larger maze on another board, but as you say the quest is large already. I was also conscious that I personally found the maze the least fun part of the book. The maze section that I have, still managed to confuse and frustrate my playtester.

Is it a four player quest?
You said somewhere you would like this quest to be played by a fresh hero group, so with EU Stat monsters, they would lose around 17 BP. That's okay, challenging but ok.

If you changed all the monster stats in the Quest Notes, it would be a different thing probably. Didn't check. :)

Yep, four heroes. There are a few tougher monsters in the notes, but there are plenty of healing opportunities and other items too.
I have my own house rule that monsters start with EU stats and then switch to US stats once one of the heroes has increased one of his attack or defence stats by one die. But obviously every one will have their own rules about this. I play the ogre's body points as:
Warrior 3
Champion 4
Chieftain 4
Lord 5
Is that the standard? Might have to clarify this as well if it isn't.

There is no standard for Ogres. I took the ones from Phoenix' Questbook. Yes it would be good to state them somewhere.

@Charlie82
There is an official 10 Body Point Ogre from the Elf Quest Pack of the North American game, but that one is only suitable after playing through a few dozen Quests (at least.)

For Ogres derived from Against the Ogre Horde, Phoenix's Body Point choices carry the advantages of precedence and wide distribution through his and drathe's localizations. Your choices match his, so I'd recommend sticking with what you have.

[With all of those choices, you certainly captured the feel of a choose-your-own-adventure game in a simple format--well done! As this Quest is designed for four Heroes and Mentor/Zargon, I'd suggest the initial descriptions and choices to be read to the Hero players be lettered in italics. The portions meant only for M/Z, such as the latter sentences noting consequences of choices, would remain in standard lettering, with instances of "you" changed to "a/the Hero." A note following the into would explain how M/Z should read the entries.

Second board:
L) Are Thunderbolt and Terror meant to be the Chaos spells Lightning Bolt and Fear?
M) A 1000 gold coin reward, while a fabulous amount, is a lot more than normally gotten for 2 Quests. For comparison, the Main Game System awards 1020 gold coins in total for the first 5 beginning Quests. Others who choose to play may wish to reduce the amount. -edit]

I have put the consequences of the heroes' choices in italics as you sort of suggested. Also tweaked the names of the chaos spells and one or two other wordings. I playtested it again recently and the heroes struggled, so I have added a couple of further assists: A battle axe can be found, and the elf and the wizard can replenish some of their spells when they move onto the second board (for a quest as large as this, that is only fair).

As am I. This seems like it could be quite awesome. I'll have to figure out where to squeeze it into our campaign.
