Sorcerer's Scroll Kit

I repurposed the anti-venom quill art to be a new artifact. I wanted another single-use item that gave the player a chance to customize the outcome.

This functions similar to the spell ring, but it's one-time use, and the spell scroll produced is like any other spell scroll, it can be carried from quest to quest, and can be used by any Hero.

The user can keep the spell they copied and use it normally on a future turn. I was hoping to convey the above explantation clearly in the card text. Does it come across? Thoughts and comments appreciated, as always!

Ya I think it's pretty clear. I think "the spell may be cast on a future turn" is a little confusing since this is done BEFORE the quest, meaning there are no turns yet. Maybe just "the spell is not discarded to do this" or something like that.

No, "The spell" refers to the regular spell card this card copies, not to this card. Thus, it has to be discarded as per the regular rules. At that point it has nothing to do with this card anymore or with the "before the quest" specification.
The card text is crystal clear to me.

I like it. I read it as being able to make a scroll of one of the existing spells the characters know. Said scroll may only be used once and the quill may only be used once. It's basically a free spell for use in a dungeon.

That's what I said, in less complicated words.

Yes, I know "the spell" refers to the regular spell card. What I was suggesting is that the quill tell you that "the spell" card is not discarded when you use the quill to copy it to a scroll before the quest (meaning you still have "the spell" when the quest starts, and may cast it as normal in addition to now having a spell scroll)

I get you, but "the spell" wouldn't have to be discarded before the quest in any circumstance because it is to be discarded as an action and that's that.
General rule of how spellcasting as an action works in conjunction with the card text leave no room for ambiguous interpretation, I think.

I was just agreeing that we were on the same page just in different wording. I hope I didn't come across as not agreeing.

The card states "The spell may be cast on a future turn, and the spell scroll may be used by any Hero." So it states on the card that the spell is still usable. Aside from which, you discard a spell when you use it or if an item or a spell specifically tells you to discard them. Neither is true in this case.

Yeah, no misunderstanding here. My comment was in no way sarcastic or anything, just me admitting soemtimes people use easier language to convey what I was trying to say. |_P
