The Ring of Beckoning

Based on my inquiries about whether or not you insist that Heroes trek back to the beginning of the Quest to complete it: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3239 and how almost all quests in the expansions thereafter have a different exit from the starting point, I sought to revise the Ring of Return, keeping some of its original utility, and adding a new mechanic, so that if found, the Heroes could consider a clever use for it, rather than it collecting dust in their pocket.

Here I've nerfed the "teleport *all* Heroes" portion, and added a new "OR" use, while including it in the treasure deck.

Here, a single Hero can save themselves, (or easily return to the starting point, if the Evil Wizard requires that for success) or save another Hero from danger, wherever they are on the board. They could be far-flung all the way across the board, or right in front of the ringbearer, about to be hacked in two by a Fimir!

If you continue posting creative cards one by one each day, in less than 225 days Anderas' HQ game will be the same like GimmeYerGold HQ Game! :D

Hey, this is pretty good! The Ring of Return has a powerful effect, but the times it's actually helpful to use it are very rare. Dropping the "summons everyone" aspect in exchange for a saving throw against pretty much any type of danger seems like an eminently fair trade: less raw power, but far more likely to be used.

This item also reminds me of a magic item my Heroes can find called an 'Expulse Sphere', which banishes any one monster off the board entirely and adds it to the next set of Wandering Monsters the Heroes find, if they find any at all. Naturally, this item explicitly does not work against 'named' monsters - that would be too cheap.

:) Nice, very creative.
