Do you need better resolution pics for the jigsaws?

If you wanna post them, I think that would be great! My point is to make all things Hero Quest available for viewing.

I am in the middle of working on these, and noticed something that I think people will have missed. They have a alternative image for the RotWL, in the background you can clearly see they put u banners, while in the orginal artwork there are no banners.

The upper banners and mid torchs from the puzzle picture are missing in the (supposed) original art as per Les Edwards website:


Really, really rare.. are they different pictures? Or the second is just a correction of the first one?

Not sure about the banners since they are hidden (or not) by the HeroQuest logo in the EU expansion boxes, but they show the middle torchs... so it seems the expansion boxes show the same picture as the puzzle, aren't they?

I would guess they didn’t like all the empty wall space and did a small edit to Les Edwards art before putting it on the box.

Well... this seems to be more complex:

The ROTWL expansion box (& Gremlin HQ videogames boxes!) does not show the banners but it shows the torchs... so maybe the banners were only included FOR THE PUZZLE??? Impressive!


This would mean we have 4 versions of the same official picture:

Version 1 - Les Edwards original picture (no torchs, and no banners)
Version 2 - EU ROTWL expansion box & Gremlin HQ videogames boxes (with torchs, but no banners)
Version 3 - NA ROTWL expansion box (different colours scheme and detail, no torchs, and -probably- no banners)
Version 4 - ROTWL puzzle (with banners and torchs)
