With the box set seemingly on its pending arrival.. I am wondering, if this group doing this kickstarter have done its history.. will we see a solo expansion finally for the Dwarf and Wizard? So many possibilities.. :D so much to be excited about for this. Not really sure if its just going to be a main box set release.. and I hope if it does well we can see some pretty good stretch goals as sweet as MYTH was. :)

I don't see the point of speculating about that right now to be honest...

why not? is everyone on this forum totally opposed to this new game so its not even cool to talk about or be excited im happy its coming out and I hope they do have expansion quest packs for the dwarf and wizard that would be awesome and what better place is there to talk about it then on a heroquest forum?

Because we don't even know if the first game will even launch yet. It might crash and burn right at the kickstarter. And if they are successfull, I'm sure GameZone will let us know if they plan on making addons.

So basically, the answer here is: they might, if they get funded, or they might not, and they might not even get funded at all.

As it was said in the other thread - First impressions are important, and HQ25 hasn't really wow'ed a lot of people.
But by golly it's HeroQuest/HeroQuest-related and it's all right to talk about it here at the Inn any time any day!

I do agree it's a little early to discuss expansions though. It's like discussing a sequel to a movie before you've even seen the first one.

However... I'm pretty convinced we won't get the "Wizard" and "Dwarf" expansion packs. At least not in the way I think you mean.
For starters they already include the female versions in the basic box.
Also HQ25 seems to be doing pretty much it's own thing. I don't think they'll feel obligated to redo the expansions.
My guess is that after the main box the game will branch off into it's own thing (Assuming we get expansions).

Purely speculations ;)

While I'm personally not that hyped at this point, I AM looking forward to seeing the new rulebook and the new quests.
Maybe they turn out to be amazing?

sjeng how excited were you during zombicide itars and bones kickstarts you made several posts on this site talking about those and speculating about what was coming up next and how awesome this or that stretch goal was or would be if they did it that I find it disappointing you feel a need to disparage someone from making similar posts about heroquest {which this site is dedicated to} just because you don't like the new concept

Who cares if they expand it? Its not like a Dwarf or Wizard quest would be compatible with the actual HeroQuest. Furthermore, why is anyone qualified to publish a game called HeroQuest suddenly also acceptable to continue the trend? Both of the American Quest packs were *lemony goodness*, anyway.

@ wolfie907: I think Sjeng only wanted to point out that there will in his (and G-K's and my) opinion not be any expansion that would have taken from where the original HeroQuest stopped because this is somthing entirely different using just the name and probably the mechanics and material templates.
Sjeng's post here wasn't meant to disparage anyone, so speculate at your leisure. I just agree it's pretty pointless and not comparable to the stretch goals of other kickstarter projects you mentioned. For all other Kickstarter I have seen (linked to from here) there was some material to look at, some concept art to imagine the real deal from, or some 3D graphic of an already sculpted miniature.
This GameZone project has shown us nothing but bad computer art, and very pathetically little, at that.

If you want to speculate I'm all yours, but experience in this thing has shown me that all speculation is gonna lead pretty much into discouragement and disappointment.
I prefer to continue thinking skeptically of this, which right now seems to me to be the only way I can surprised in a positive way by the "creators" of the new game.

That's just my :2cents:

And I agree with chaoticprime yet again.

I agree that the American quest packs don't really fit well both in gameplay mechanics and miniature scale that's why I think gamezone could actually get close on a dwarf or wizard expansion since there oddballs anyway im not all gung ho on this project but im not against it either as for concept art of other kickstarts two of the most successful miniature kickstarts bones 1 and 2 for example had absolutely no art or graphics prior to their kickstarts going live

That would be because those miniatures, or at least by far the most of them, already existed as metal miniatures.
