I was testing some game-tile stuff today, and found out that my printer/computer/something is
off. I THOUGHT I had the right size for the spaces on my game tiles, but they were a whole lot bigger
than the spaces on the HQ board.

(fyi - I was working on some overlays that allow use of the board while still using the game tile)

I was wondering if anyone has printed off any of the game tiles I've created. If so...how do they pan
out for you? Are the spaces too big or too small or something?

I ask this because I am going to re-size all my future game tiles - this is my plan as of right now.

Thanks for any help someone can give me on this.

(P.S. - it could be this new update of adobe reader, also...they changed the print screen options, and I might be
doing something wrong there...I just don't know).

The ones I printed so far were jpg's which I placed in Word. I then made a square on my document, with a set height and width. Then I dragged the image underneath the square, and resized it to the square, then deleted the square. worked perfectly.
With a PDF, that should be preset. 100% = regular size. If you want to print everything bigger, you need to print at a certain percentage bigger (103% for example), depending on your square sizes.

I suggest you to use HQ Card Maker. I believe it’s the easiest way to do it.

At first take your image and throw it in the “cards” folder. It can be whatever format you want (jpg, png, bmp, etc)

After that open the “HeroQuest Card Text.xls” and add a new “sheet”. Copy-paste one “card” from another sheet, and change the “back image” with the filename of your image.
Image
Run the program “HQ Card Maker.exe” and choose at the “Package” option your new sheet. Choose the “paper size” you want, the “card size” (in mm or in), the “resolution” you want (as many dpi that bigger will be your image), and choose “Pages” 1, “Back Page”, and no “Round Corners”.
Image
Then press “To File” button and you will have the image you want ready to print on the dimensions you choose.

You can do this for many separated images, and without changing the size of the main image, you can copy-paste as many images (of the same dpi) you can fit in the same image.
Try to do it and you’ll see how easy it is.

ps: I will make it as add-on when I find the time to do it.

Cool - I'll check that program out very soon. I just finished up a board over-lay
tile, and it printed fairly well in PDF - I think maybe my previous measurements
were off. We'll see.

But yes...I will check out the program - looks neat. I hadn't heard of or seen it before.
